I will be buying an Xbox 360 Arcade soon as it is only $199.00 and i have never had an Xbox before, does the Arcade restrict youfrom buying a game like The Ballad of gay Tony or Modern Warfare putting the Disc in and playing straight away. and any other information about it will help,Any advise on the console will be greatly appreciated.

You are ok with GTA as longs as you buy the disc version with both exspansions as i don't think it installs to a harddrive and modern warfare will be fine you can just pop the game in and play.

If you plan on playing it much and buying dlc or arcade games you would be better off geting one with a hard drive.

you dont need a hd to play the games right away but saving and updates will become harder later one. in the end your probably gonna have to get a hd for it so its better to get one now. if its a money thing the arcade is still gonna allow you to play all the games especially if you never go on live.

You can PLAY them... but don't expect save games, you don't have the hard drive for that with an arcade.

It's got internal memory. Most of my save game files are under 10 megs. You'd need to buy a ton of games or make a crapton of save files per game in order to run out anytime soon with an arcade. The only save that will really make you run out of memory is Forza. For some reason I can't comprehend, the saves for that Forza 2 are like 100mb each... which is more than quintuple the size of the next largest game save on my console.

No, you almost never need to install the game.

You can do everything you want ont he ARCADE just like the ELITE, but in the future you will want to get a harddrive for game demos.

You can get a refurbished 60 GB harddrive for $30 off ebay.

Within a couple of months of getting an Arcade you will find yourself wishing you had a HDD to make full use of the 360. You can just clip a 360 HDD onto an Arcade 360, but it usually works out cheaper to have bought it with the 360 in the first place

i promise in every way you will regret not getting a hard drive with that. spend extra money get one less game and get hard drive. without having hardrive it will stop you from ever downloading demos, arcade games, expansions for games, maps, anything really that needs to be downloaded to be used besides save games.

arcade, it pretty much what it means at the end of tha day..........if u have an arcade system. thats pretty much stating u have NO PLANS of getting any updates, joining XBox Live, none of that. But If you do, i suggest u scrape up forty bucks and go get AT LEAST a refurbished 20gig at tha nearest gamestop. I'm just being real wit' u.

It will be as much or cheaper to get an Elite than it would be to get an Arcade and a hard drive separate. Check Best Buy as they may still have some of their Elite holiday bundles left. They have some online still.

Nah, it's only cheaper if you buy a HDD at a retail store. They sell them super cheap on Amazon and if you're willing to go used you can get a 120gb for a ridiculously low price.

my friend just got one for christmas too.strange to find out it didnt come with those 5 arcade games.and they put the memory to system memory instead of using a memory card.. his arcade is super quite. i put my ear right up to the system and could bearly hear it running with a game in!!!. he also plays halo 3 online and guitar hero online.. im pretty sure ms is still selling 20 gig hds for 19.99 online or if you call them

Yes..... You will run out of space without one more than likely.
