No game other than Final Fantasy X has made me even close to crying. FFX had me sitting there with tears in my eyes for nearly 10 minutes after the cutscene at the end. ITS TRAGIC!

Final Fantasy 8. The absolutely astonishing ending after having spent so much time invested in the game made it to this day the greatest single moment in video game history to me. And yes I like it more than FFVII.

Ocarina of Time. Self-explanatory.

Shadow of the Colossus. I felt like a real bastard killing all the beasts but it was for the good cause of reviving my girlfriend, just to find out that I was a puppet all along and...ahhh...it was just sad.

The Darkness, of course, when Jenny dies, but the part where you're chasing after Eddie Shrote and he says "Hey Estacado, I recall shooting your girlfriend".

And The Darkness says "She's deaaaad, Jenny JennyjennyjennyHAHAHA!"

I laughed so hard and then realized how messed up that was.

AND!

And..

Silent Hill 2, during all three of Maria's deaths followed by the reminiscing. That game was pretty damn emotional.

And and and...Silent Hill 4. I felt so much remorse for Walter during the end battle. Sad pathetic little boy that never grew up.

is the darkness worth it by the way ???

Reaper_Squad
Yes, it is. IMO, it's one of the top 3 Xbox 360 games if you're only into SP games.

The trailer for HL2: Episode 2 gutted me when I saw that Alyx had died, of course they switched stuff around in the game so that that never happened, but still, she is one of the greatest characters of all time in my opinion.

o yea...i cried when they killed Gaz and the black guy in call of duty....then i broke my controller when Price appeared to die. (They never actually showed him dead, a soldier was doing CPR and he might have been resussitated because Price is a staple of the series...i dont think he is gone

Normally RPG's have that effect, especially J-RPG's with good stories.

For me if I had to pick two different series which had this affect I would have to say Final Fantasy (Any of them) or taking a step away I'd have to say the silent hill series.

Both series have very powerfull and moving stories, characters and surroundings

FYI I think both Final Fantasy and Silent hill draw on the same emotions just from oposite perspectives and angles.

Allthough I think I have to admit Silent Hill has a much stronger emotional pull because it really makes you feel like your alone, very very alone.. and when things turn to hell or the only other people in the game die and stuff you are inclined to feel more emotional or upset oposed to a game such as FF when one character dies but you morn with the team mates of the game.. So I think Silent Hill is the biggest winner i'd have to say

Half Life 2 Episode 2 & Mass Effect *SPOILER*!!!!

Mass effect, when I lost Kaiden and when the game makes you believe that Shepard died. The other one was Half Life 2 Episode 2, when Eli died. Eli was one of the most emotional character I've been with sense he has been with us sense Half Life 1. It also shocked me too because I wasn't expecting that to happen. I wasn't bursting in tears though but it did make me feel emotional.

The end of Half-life 2: Episode Two really got me. I mean, I was still recovering from how epic the last action sequence was, and then Eli dies!!

Damnit, shouldn't have read that first post. I'm only a couple hours into Mass Effect.

Anyway, for me I'd say FFX is one of, if not the, most emotional games I've played through. Its not often I find myself wanting to cry but FFX does it every damn time I watch the ending.

When I had to destroy my WCC.

WHY GLADoS! WHY!

And how CoD4 leaves you hanging. And I got mega ticked when johnson dies in Halo 3.

I still remember that introductory movie, and now I cry every time I see it.:?

I guess this is opened to non-xbox 360 games, from what I've been reading so far. Mine would have to be Final Fantasy VII, the scene where Aeries dies. When I was about 14 years old, I nearly got teary-eyed as I watched the ending to Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Halo 3's ending was kinda sad, as I watched Master Chief sit there next to Cortana, on the ship. He risked everything to save her and humanity, and well you know what happens at the end. *salute*

Mass effect, Zelda OoT (favourite game ever, always makes me feel like a little kid when I play it), Half Life 2 + EP 2 & 3, RE4, SM Galaxy (made me feel like a little kid too, and the end cutscene is awesome) and when you save a little sister on Bioshock - the music in the background is so uplifting, that is the only reason I saved the little sisters coz it gave me such a strong emotional response. Harvesting them just felt wrong. Good topic BTW

Mass Effect didn't make me sad cause I knew what i was going to do before it even happend Ashley hots Im not sacrificing her. and Kaiden barely had anything to say at any time. But I have to go way back to MGS when you Fight Sniper Wolf the last time here "Death Speech" was moving and Otocon question made me emotional.

Well, at the end of Halo 3 the funeral for Master Chief brought a tear to my eye but I filled up with happiness and joy at the same time. BUT! after the credits when I saw that Master Chief was still alive while floating to some sort of mechanical looking planet my jaw just dropped and my eyes never closed again.

I have never cried over a game, but I have gotten mad from one.
