I have a 42" toshiba lcd and I play a lot of games and watch movies / tv and I couldnt be more pleased with the quality. I initially chose it because I heard plasmas had burning in issues but lcd's are great for most anything :).

Well the reason I ask is because I saw a 50" Insignia plasma at best buy for around $1,100 and it seems like a great deal, but I also heard about burn-in issues, and LCDs don't have them, but I also heard plasma has overall better picture quality, like better colors, and no ghosting.

Plasma's have the better image, but if you plan on playing games, it's not recommended, because all those static images (health bar, weapon, amoo) get burnt onto the screen.

The newer plasmas don't have an issue with burn-in anymore. I would get the 50 inch plasma, but not by insignia.

I would get the 42 inch Panasonic plasma which you can probably find for around $1200-1300.

I read online that the insignia is made by LG, so it's basically an LG plasma, in a different casing.

Not even a kondike bar?

Sorry, Anyways go with a LCD So far i have been loving my 32" toshiba LCD great picture quailty and cheaper as well and also no need for burn in. Seems plasma is just better for movies while LCD is for gaming.
