The more I think about the match, the more it sinks it that it really wasn't all that good. I mean, Punk worked his ass off trying to carry Rock to as good a match as possible, and he told a hell of a story out there. But my god Rock is just in such horrible ring shape. He was sluggish and sloppy, not to mention blown up before the match even began, and Punk had to work twice as hard just to get things rolling half the time. And a lot of the time it even seemed as if Rock just flat out wasn't cooperating with him. Punk tried his damndest, but my god was The Rock totally half-assing it last night. If he brought his A-game then this coulda been a classic (despite the awful, awful ending), but Rock's either gotten lazy, or he's just so out of shape that he can't perform on that same main event calibur level anymore, and the overall match quality suffered for it.
Edit: And I'll echo the sentiments that the lack of false-finished hurt this match. Punk shoulda been allowed to hit a finisher on Rock, and he shoulda been allowed to kick out of Rock's finisher. Especially the People's Elbow? My god. But Punk was even allowed to kick out of Cena's finishers, so why, all of a sudden, is he incapable of kicking out of a damn elbow? This kinda crap only further hurt the match and made it lose its main event feel.
