they always gave away spoilers and it usually helped them and was hilarious, I'm sure he didn't think there were many mankind fans out there but sadly there was and helped wwf get some positive views for once

Why? As someone else said, it wasn't like it was a one-off kind of deal, this was something they did all the time. This just happened to be an instance when it backfired.
Oh, of course...how else it could have been from the same guy that basically killed Owen Hart, made David Arquette (and himself) WCW World Heavyweight Champion and basically drove TNA down to the ground?
