Jerry Lawler collapses at ringside during Raw

(Credit to Wrestlezone.com)There seems to be a situation unfolding in Montreal during tonight's Monday Night Raw that involves Hall of Famer Jerry 'the King' Lawler. There was a moment on commentary where both announcers went silent and Cole removed his headset. He then continued calling the match on his own, as the live crowd began chanting 'Jerry, Jerry!' but almost immediately fell silent. Arda Ocal is reporting that Lawler appears to have been convulsing, and then fell unconscious. He was then taken to the back by legitimate medical staff. At this point it does not appear that this is a part of a storyline injury, and we hope all is well with the King. More on this story as it develops. Update (10:22pm EST): Michael Cole noted to the viewers that this situation is not part of tonight's 'entertainment,' and that Lawler is currently receiving CPR from the medical staff backstage.-then later that night-Cole confirmed that this was 'not a part of tonight's entertainment', and that the medics are currently performing CPR in the back. -when Raw was about to go off the air-Michael Cole issued a final update on Jerry Lawler's condition at the end of Raw, and noted that his condition has 'stabilized,' his heart is beating on its own, and he is breathing on his own. He is currently being prepped for a CT Scan to examine his chest and heart. (Credit to PWInsider.com)According to sources, Lawler had flown to Montreal after working weekend independent shots in Aruba, so he had a long day of travel before working TV tonight. Whether that was a factor remains to be seen. One ringside fan emailed PWInsider.com to report that Lawler sounded as if he began snoring right before he collapsed. Prior to that, he communicated with a ringside employee, possibly to warn them something was wrong. Lawler grabbed his arm and turned 'blue-ish' as he fell, signs of a heart attack. Note that WWE has not publicly stated what the situation is beyond that Lawler was receiving CPR. EMTs were on the scene immediately, as were WWE medical personnel. They immediately ripped Lawler's shirt open and began administering medical assistance. A group of responders lifted Lawler to a stretcher, where he was rushed backstage and worked on before being transported via ambulance to a hospital. The ringside fan who emailed us stated that WWE officials directed the EMTs to get Lawler backstage and away from the crowd. After Lawler was removed, the WWE ring crew frantically cleaned up the ringside area as it appeared Lawler may have gotten sick before or after he fell. *Please check WWE.com and this story on continuing updates throughout the week* #PrayForLawler

after watching the tout video, i'd like to thank and congratulate the EMTs...heart attacks are very serious and it looks like jerry will get to walk away with minimal complications. I was worried that taking him backstage rather than trying to revive him at ringside was going to be a grave mistake...we are fortunate it wasn't. I'm hoping the WWE welcomes Jerry back to Raw with a Divas bikini contest :P StaticKornSlipX

i have had a close family member that died of it, so yeah all props to the emt
