Due to personal issues, Kurt Angle has been granted an early release from his contract. WWE looks forward to establishing a new relationship with Kurt in the near future.

The only Olympic gold medalist in WWE history, Kurt Angle arrived in 1999 and quickly became one of the most decorated champions in sports-entertainment history. "The Wrestling Machine" is not only a six-time World Champion, but also held the Intercontinental Championship and WWE Tag Team Championship; he also won the 2000 King of the Ring tournament. Recently joining ECW, Angle’s unmatched intensity was rivaled only by his technical and athletic in-ring prowess.

Dude that's just.... crazy. He must be having some serious health issues or something. Hopefully, whatever happened he manages to come back sometime soon, but first needing to make some stops in ROH to face Aries, Strong, Danielson, Joe, and just about anyone else you'd want to see him against.DirtyDarren

'Personal inssues' is what the wwe is saying, It's most likely the weekly beating he got on SD! from henry, and rey that took their toll.

I hope he gets whatever he had wrong with him sorted out soon. and gets back to 100%.

Well I do hope, and feel, that this is just Angle & WWE's way of saying that he needs extensive time off. The guy does need it badly and I really believe that, like Michaels, he will be back in a year or two once everything is 100%.

Of course I do blame WWE for most of this. Most of his problems, if not all, started when they brought back Henry.

So here is to hoping that we see him again in the not to distant future. If we do not, here is hoping that he does well in all his future endeavours.

Well it could also be the fact, that he is trying to save his marriage and that could be one of the personal issues, if you guys remember, a while back him and his wife got seperated and got back together again and were seperated, because him being on the road was taking too much of a toll on their marriage and that is understandable

I hate to see Kurt Leave for a while, but if he has to leave to take care of his family or whether it is injury problems or something else, then the man has to do what he has to do

Kurt's going through a divorce with his pregnant wife... His neck has been bugging him, and his groin injury isn't just an injury, it's a tear... His friends are quoted to supposedly say that he's falling apart... It's been rumored WWE has him on a suicide watch too...

All in all... I feel bad for the guy, and it sucks he's leaving. He's awesome in the ring and at what he does, it's a shame he has to go.:(

Heavy.

This is a major blow to pro wrestling, but not wholly unforeseen and this is a relatively good move by the WWE.  Angle was working his way to paralysis, if not an early grave.  God bless him, he always went out there and gives 110%, but at the expense of his well-being.  Hopefully, things can get worked out and Angle can heal up and this will not be the true end of his tenure in WWE.  He's one of the the only true total packages in wrestling.

The greastest pure wrestler in the business, is getting some well deserved and needed time off. This is a major blow to WWE and wrestling in general. I hope that in a year or two after Kurt's healed physically and mentally, he'll be back. I do agree that he should stop in ROH before heading back to WWE.

I didn't see this coming at all but it's for Angle's best interest, no doubt about it. He's been injury prone over the past year or so and regardless of it all, on top of his neck injury from a couple years back, he's no doubtedly continued to work top notch in all his matches.

I am glad he got a title run earlier on in the year now. If this really is the end of Kurt Angle's career as a professional wrestler, at least he had one last run nearing the end. Whatever these personal issues are, I hope Angle uses the time to clear them off from his mind. Knowing Angle's competitiveness and how he's even admitted to not being happy sitting at home and not being in the ring, I am sure we'll see Angle in the near future, whether that be in a year's time to five years from now.

The vets are dusting away though. We've lost Benoit for good by the looks of things, now Angle, and I really wouldn't be surprised to see Taker and Michaels join the ring too.

What?! I thought Benoit was coming back?? I will be grief stricken if we lose Angle AND Benoit. Also you should add Kane to the list isn't he retiring soon aswell.

This really sucks we really are losing all the vets; soon the rosters going to look like a bunch of Cenas, Vitos and Khalis.:o

I think Angle can go to ROH for one show to face Samoa Joe, what harm would it do to the WWE? TNA is out of the question though

Can you blame him? He has the stromgest workrate in the WWE, missed the birth of his daughter, wrestled instead of trying to bridge his marriage together. He eats, sleeps and breathes wrestling. He has gave blood, sweat and tears for his company. Hopefully he can take time off and sort out his marriage and then get back into the WWE scene again.

Mena while you are right in saying we're losing a lot of the vets, I do think Benoit will be coming back one more time, it was even on wwe.com a while back I think, I'm expecting him to make a return soon. And SwimPUNK I fully agree with you about ROH, the guy is obviously going through serious stuff if the wwe actually decided to let him out of his contract early, and most of these guys here go "OMG Teh angle vs joe match!!one!!11!!11!1! that will own, angle should go to roh!" seriously guys there's no chance of that happening, the guy isn't even healthy enough to have a 2 minute squash match against a jobber, let alone wrestle a match against Joe. Even if Angle did get better anytime soon, the WWE (although they released him) probably still has a contract with him regarding this stuff, so I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.wwervin

Angle is doing the right thing. I am glad he's took it upon himself to sort his life out by leaving the ring. I can't imagine how he must have felt on Friday. I wish him all the best, regardless if this means he doesn't wrestle ever again. I'd rather see Angle live the day to be inducted into the Hall of Fame instead of him being inducted in the same way Eddie Guerrero did.

Since Angle will be gone, I hope they put together a Kurt Angle DVD by the end of the year. We deserve to get Kurt Angle DVD.KevyR
