Isn't the 'wet foot dry-foot law' unfair to other immigrants?

To thoughs ignorant on the law it provides full American citizenship to any Cuban resident that flees Cuba and steps on American soil. Seems somewhat unfair given we deport any other demographic and then label them as a criminal.

What I love about this is that IF they make it to US land they may be able to gain residence, but if you're caught in the water you go back home to Cuba. Still that little glimmer of hope they leave you with.

On topic, think about it, anyone who risks their lives on a 90 mile voyage across the sea on little tiny rafts deserves a shot. Nowadays they just walk, not as admirable.

We probably reward these Cubans because we figure they're trying to escape Castro.

...it takes longer to go 90 miles floating on the ocean than 2 hours.

It gives them the option, not a full citizenship/residency. It is not automatic.

So you want all the 5000000 illegal mexicans to be immigrants? It makes perfect sense, fleeing from a communist country the has orders to kill you for fleeing or opposing and controls your life. Don't see how that's unfair.

They must stay in America after the first initial landing for 365 days and then yes, they're automatically an American Citizen. Any relatives of the person who land here under the age of 21 and not married get visas, and then they also may apply for citizenship as well.

Cuba kills people the try to leave? maybe that's why we don't deport Cubans, we don't want them to get killed.

That's a lie, if that was true we wouldn't send them back if they're found at sea.

Shocking. I stand corrected.

A buddy just married a Cuban girl (in Canada) but she naturally had to get her "green card". Whilst I understand the circumstances for the law, I don't understand the necessity.

Well to be fair the outdated yet ongoing embargo of Cuba continues to ***** over that country's economy.

Consider this.... reparations?

1) Sure. If Pablo who speaks no English can take your job you really need to reevaluate your education, and/or job training. 2) That's a lie. They might only kill the soldiers that try to defect just like how America puts you in Prison for a good chunk of your life if you defect from the militaries.
