Games For Windows Live update 3.5?

windows Games For Windows Live update 3.5 for some reason keeps wanting to install the 3.5 update on windows update over and over again?. Any reason why it should be doing this?. Its installed one time as it should then windows update has installed it 7 times now the 3.5 update?...

i got the same drama, 3.5 update for Games for Windows LIVEinstalls then about an hour later wants to install again

been playing GTAIV & after about an hour the game ctd & everytime this update is trying to install, ive installed it 5 times now & reset PC everytime, its driving me nuts, see this is why NO game should require a 3rd party program in order to operate, its hard enough getting a game to run by itself half the time... stupid microsoft cant do anything right

I just called GFWL and gave them the link to this post. They guy thanked me and said they now are aware of the issue and will be researching it.

you managed to install it, I needed to reset my router before it even allowed me to install, although I installed it through the client itself. I havent had any issues with it besides the normal cant log in, cause I live in in a country that is not "supported by GFWL", even though if I restat the game a couple of times I can log in.

Again? I just had to update GFWL yesterday!? Not to mention I couldn't get it to download without temporarily turning off my firewall. :x

Well unless it starts prompting me again, I'm just gonna ignore this current update.

Same problem here. It also keeps installing a definition update for MSE.

Most people who don't care for GFWL on GTA4 just use the user created patch to 'fix' it.

Same issue here. I just ignore the Windows Update icon in the task tray for now until a real fix comes along.

I did try a "fix" that was suggested - uninstalling GFWL and then letting Windows Update install it again. The Update reminder went away, but then my GFWL games wouldn't load. Lame.

Anyone know if this has been fixed yet? It's still sitting in my Windows Update. Scared to update. :(
