when i open HWmonitor I can see my cpu temps are 36c 34c 36c 32c but when I look at the CPUTIN its at 70c then it jumps to 126c should I be concerned about this? Core Temp and Real temp gives me the same reading of 36c 34c 36c 32c so why is CPUTIN so high?

You mean 126c F isn't it? Well CPUTIN is the CPU upper surafce tempearture not core rempearture .Mine shows it to be 65 degrees centigrate but 126 degrees centigrate is too high, so might be a misread by software there.Well you can try Lavalys Aida64(fomerly Everest extreme edition) to check on that. Also see what your mobo bios reads.

Lol found it! Sorry!:D

But dat seems erratic reading, come on minimum 8 and max 124?

And in Aida64 the topmost temperature named CPU temperature (not Core# temperatures) is what that corresponds to HW monitor's CPUTIN. Since i have a dual core the topmost one in the CPU temps list is the one denoted the CPU temp, not cre temp.I could not find dat in your image.

it doesn't show up in Aida64 :?
and shouldn't the computer shutdown or give me a warning if the cpu was that hot?

This is what my CPU temp reads like in Aida64:

CPU temp - 51

CPU core #1-42

CPU core #2-42

The topmost one is the CPU temperature but assuming you have a quad core temp only your 4 core temps are on display, not the CPU temp.

Can't say why does not that show up.Maybe got something to do with CPU architecture.

And yes sudden shutdown means your CPU temp has exceeded safe limits so that's the reason behind it.Once that happened to me when I forgot to plug in the CPU fan plug to mobo.LOL.Cpu reached 100 and autmatically was shut down from the BIOS in say 10 seconds! SO definitely get that CPU-fan checked mate and I found your CPU fan is running at 613 rpm from HW monitor which is low rpm I reckon.

I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ I will try re-applying the thermal paste and see if anything changes, I also downloaded speed fan and I get a CPU temperature(not core temp) of -128c maybe its a problem with the sensor? :?

That has to be it. I know that other Intel CPU's have had temp sensor problems.. My second core's sensor is stuck at 42C...

But as long as the core temps are good and I don't get shutdowns, BSOD or warnings it shouldn't have any problems right? and in the bios I have internal temp and remote temp and they sit around 38-40c.

Yeah, everything should be fine. I wouldn't even bother trying to reapply thermal paste or anything...

Sorry for the delayed reply.Yes most definitely so (faulty sensor readings) and frankly as long as there's no shutdown/warnings/Bsod/freezes I think you'll be fine just as GeordiLaforge mentioned.Oh and Cooler Master Hyper N212 is one hunk of a fan and don't really need to run at say 1500-3500 rpm so the CPU fan speed are fine as well.I thought the custom fan was running at that speed.Sorry for that.:D

Thanks for helping me Serioussamik and GeordiLaforge its definitely a faulty sensor because its been stuck in speedfan at -128c for over 2hours.
