What is the point of this article besides pouring salt into PS3 owners' wounds, and then parading about Xbox Live? This is video game journalism?
No, this is IGN:

Pre-order Gears.I find this amusing.
Also,is there a way to get into the GeoW3 beta without having to buy random s***?Lto_thaG
you think people are not going to have a field day with this knowing how the sony faithful are going to react?
you can't give a ps3 exclusive a 9 without them going crazy and claiming an international conspiracy has it in for the sony corp.
when you paint a big target on yourself people are going to take pot shots at you.
Dam you PSN! 6 days without me nuking on CoD MW2 is too hard! :P.. no seriously i today started playing some single player games like Enslaved and uncharted 2 again.. miss these days.. i blame call of duty :P
Actually Netflix is working just fine on PS3.
I got a better question, though.
Is IGN secretly working for Microsoft?
YES!
Things you can expect to find on IGN on a daily basis:
Stories that appear to be un-bias, yet contain language and phrases that make their favoritism evident. Yellow Journalism at its best, used by apparent non-journalists.
Review scores that favor Xbox when the PS3 version is inferior, but remain the same when the PS3 version is superior. Their excuse is that different people review the same game on different consoles... yet, for all this, the text write-up treatment is the same. Even Mass Effect 2 scored lower on PS3, despite the slightly enhanced visuals.
Stories regarding woes on 360, only to be followed by encouraging words to dissuade any negative thoughts on their Sponsor.
Stories revealing a success on Sony's part, only to be followed by statements to contradict the success. Move has shipped 1 million unites... but don't celebrate yet.. It's only "shipped". Xbox 360 has sold millions of units, but let's not mention that some of these might be repurchases by victims of RROD.
Mild and almost hidden commentary regarding the Red Ring of Dead, that has (to date) resulted in less play hours for its victims than this outage has (considering that PS3 owners can still play some of their games during this situation, and 360 prevents any, and all, gaming during its repair time). No Netflix, no Mortal Kombat with friends, or alone. No Fable, no chat. Nothing.. And not everyone has a Slim.
Severe coverage of Sony's mishaps, despite these mishaps being the fault of hackers, who by the way could, in theory, be responsible for IGN shutting down, if they had their way and all games became free. How is Microsoft going to pay your bills if all their games are free? Since the Xbox 360 has been hacked well before the PS3, it could stand that should the hackers have wanted to target Live, they would have done so with much more ease.
Stories virtually stating that Sony's outage was Karma, when no one gave a hoot when MS removed the accounts of cheaters on Live.
Stories expressing that Plus member should be compensated, when Plus members receive updates every other week, and only one week has passed since this happened, thus Plus members have lost nothing, and these few things of concern have been addressed (inFamous beta has been extended).
Does IGN secretly work for Microsoft? YES. Check back every day to see if this has changed, but you will find a resounding YES, every time. Oh it's hidden behind random poor scores on 360, and occasional jabs at the big M, but if you have been keeping up with these guys for more than 10 years, as I have, you will find that editorial has smoothly taken over objective journalism.
