I'm thinking of ordering a custom built PC that I thought of, on iBUYPOWER.com. It says that they'll build it with the specs that I've ordered and everything, is this a good choice?

their alright but if you want to save a few bucks.. dont let them install the gpu or buy the gpu seperately and install it yourself in some cases you can save 25-50 on the price O.o
theres another reason as well here ill let this guy explain and give you a guide to installing a gpu. his warning applies to hd 5800, 5900, gtx 400 and gtx 500 series video cards as well as the ASUS ARES

but if you really wanted to save money buy a basic prebuilt and swap the psu and videocard.. again not too much more complicated than the above..
yes, their cable management is so good. they probably make $50 off you which is decent considering you get warranty.fishing666
So all in all, they make good quality PCs? I am thinking of a $670 PC build and I want to spend this money wisely. lol
I was thinking of buying a singleHD 5770 with the build, and then buying another HD 5770 seperately later to crossfire. Is that a good decision, considering they don't let you order a build without a GPU?

here is an alternative
http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/AMD_Athlon_II_DDR2_Configurator
say that
hd 5450.. very important.. sell the 5450 for like 25 bucks online or in a newspaper or w/e
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125236
get that instead and there you have it veyr lovely window 7 gaming machine for your budget before S & H
granted it would cost more to get a 5770 a 5750 (a rebaged 4850) is well within your grasp

I might consider this, are you saying I should just go with a $488 standard dual core plan that it has on iBUYOPOWER and then get that 4850, basically?

well after looking at your build id say your probably getting a better deal over mine unless you plan on building one yourself which would then definetely smoke that one.. but otherwise solid
Yeah I'm thinking of building my own from scratchbut ordering the parts one at a time, and earn money over time, so I can put a lot more money into the build.
got mine for almost exactly what the parts wouldve costed me on newegg. Have had this over a year now and have been very happy with thier work. Only thing I changed since then is adding another 5870.
My brother went this route once and you have to keep an eye on the PSU and RAM since they used a pretty basic off brand PSU and Kingston value RAM. His video card was an eVGA 7800 GTX so he was okay in that department. It lasted about 2 or years since the PSU exploded and scorched the ASUS motherboard and Pentium 4 processor.
All in all for the price and what it actually was I would say it isn't to bad but you will have to invest in a few better parts if you plan on keeping it for long.
