im currently running an oced e2200 at 3 ghz,2 hdd's,a floppy and a dvd burner with a 435w psu.i was looking forward to upgrading to a 5750 or a 5770,but would my psu support it?i just read some charts and they stated that a 5770 would only draw 302 watts on full load:

would you advisse to go ahead and get that card?or if not, would the 5750 be fine¿?

The system used for the graph probably has an overclocked i7 housed in it, that would explain the high idle wattage.

Still, the 5770 consumes a good 30W more when under load compared to the 3850, a 5750 consumes roughly 10 extra watts. I'm not going to say if you're going to be able to run a 5770 on you're PSU; you might be able to and you may not. We need to know the specs of the PSU before making any sort of decision.

That would amount to 348W max wattage on the 12v rail (12 x 29).

I'm going to go on a limb and say you can run a 5770 on your PSU, but do so at your own risk. I've seen people running 4670's on 350W power supplies without issue, so there's a good chance that a 5770 will run fine on yours.

If you're going to purchase the 5770, I highly suggest purchasing a quality 400+W power supply within the next few months just to be on the safe side. Brands like PC-Power and cooling, Seasonic, Antec (avoid their Basiq lineup), Enermax, and Corsair generally distribute top-notch power supplies.

what if this non brand psu was about 2 years old though?i know it loses efficiency through the years..also,if the 5770 only uses about 30-50 more watts of power than my 3850 i guess its alright?

It should. However, it would be much easier for me to give a definite answer if you link a webpage of the PSU in question.

It WILL definitely run on your PSU. I was able to run 3850 on 300 W PSU. You have 29 amps on 12V rail, you won't have any problems. But after a while, consider buying a new PSU
