It's fine. I guess this is alot easier than trying to find it and bump it up. Also Welcome to the union lol. Atleast your showing interest and voicing your opinion which many of our members dont always do.
hands down sg1, my brother never watched the show with us till atlantis came along. he was totally clueless so i had to cath him up on what had happened in the last 7 years. he's an atlantis fan to say the least, i think its because of teyla.
Atlantis has it's good moments but it is still trying to establish it's characters. Hopefully they will have an episode that would rival the greatness of SG-1's "Spirits" muahahaha.
SG-1. All the episodes now tie together in some way. The earlier seasons were good but many of the episodes were just one episode storys that did not need the episodes that came before or after them to make sense.
In a way though it is good since it gives it alot of variety and it is easier for a person to get into the show if they dont really need to know what is going on in the episode. But even still the purpose was always to aquire allies or technology that could defeat the goa'uld and usually something wrong would happen so they would stay until they fixed it. Atlantis is getting better but SG1 is still on top.
I like SG-1 more. but thats really only because it has more history than Atlantis. Once Atlantis starts to build a background I think it may become my fav
Atlantis though as the benefit of knowing what generally works and what doesnt so it should be able to produce episodes that we will more readily enjoy.
I cant stand how many law and order's there are. USA and TNT are apparently running marathons of the shows and i myself try to boycott the shows. I used to like CSI and even Miami for awhile but then NY came out and just thought that WAY too much of the same stuff. I may catch an episode of CSI or Miami but not very much at all. Also the crimes are usually solved by the murderer or whatever leaving a single hair and they get him with that. NCIS is much more fun to watch.
Stargate SG-1 has WAY better characters, but I've noticed that it looks like way more money is spent towards special effects in Atlantis over SG-1. They are both good but I like SG-1 waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Atlantis.
a lot of the sfx are because the city and the pjs are so much more advanced than anything we have. besides those sets are expensive to build, give a few more seasons a nd we will a lot more of the city.
As for the series (is series a plural?) as a whole i would say SG-1. But id say thats just because its been around longer. If i think of just the recent season though id say Atlantis has preformed better. Its nothing specific really i've just felt more satisfied with the recent Atlantis Eps, than i have with the SG-1's.
To me it varies every week. i judge by witch episode i like during that particular week. (sp) like this week i liked SG-1 better because of the more intense battle scene. The Prometheus blowing up was awsome and unexpected. and Atlantis would have been better if the should the Wraith attacking the world the were visiting. but for Atlantis i wonder if the Ancients built more cities like Atlantis on other worlds, or if it is just Atlantis and that one city in this weeks episode.
I think both of them have merits, and I have gotten to the point where I have to judge on a week-by-week basis which is better. Realistically, I'd take either one on any given Friday. :)
in general i prefer sg-1 just for the storyline and characters, but atlantis has been coming into its own in recent episodes. both have had their bumps recently, but they will pick back up...i hope.Â
the upcoming sg-1 looks like it could go either way. the atlantis ep looks interesting with a genii coup. although i am getting kindof sick of the genii.
