I've been hearing some rumors about Pitt going to the Big 10 to make it a dozen for that conference. There is a press conference set for Thursday.
Here's a link.
I've been hearing this rumor too. But it doesn't make much sense. Because it doesn't do what it is that the Big Ten wanted by expanding the conference, at that's expand the "footprint" of the conference. Pitt doesn't add any markets they were already in. That's why I figured they'd go with a Mizzou, or a Rutgers, or maybe even a Syracuse.
But, if this does in fact happen, how much of a blow is this to the Big East? Not only can they not keep their coaches, now they can't even keep teams.
I don't think Pitt will get brought in unless the conference does decide to go with more than 1 team being added.
