I've been hearing this rumor too. But it doesn't make much sense. Because it doesn't do what it is that the Big Ten wanted by expanding the conference, at that's expand the "footprint" of the conference. Pitt doesn't add any markets they were already in. That's why I figured they'd go with a Mizzou, or a Rutgers, or maybe even a Syracuse.
But, if this does in fact happen, how much of a blow is this to the Big East? Not only can they not keep their coaches, now they can't even keep teams.
So once Pitt leaves for Big 10, will they finallyl change their conference name.? It already shouldn't be Big 10 with eleven teams. Sucks for the Big East, at least they're dominant in basketball.
