Phil Steele's ranking on Strength of Schedule was released recently.

Here are some important ones to these forum members. It goes from toughest to easiest.

1. Florida State

5. Auburn

41. Michigan

43. Georgia

44. Florida

47. Texas

95. Penn State

I don't know everyone's favorite team, so I know I skipped over a few.

Here's the complete list. http://philsteele.com/fbsinfo/09WINLOSSOPP.html

Not bad for Pitt at 39, but  at Penn St., Temple, and Army.

Yep, we our non-conference this year is a joke. Still got OU and then gotta go to Stillwater. Also to College Station.

Allowing that schedules are set a few years in advance, Michigan had better show some signs of wanting to play serious national football. Them losing at Toledo last year is going to roll off of their competitors' tongues for quite awhile.

They don't schedule every game in advance.  I know for Auburn they usually have at least 2 set a long time before they play.

Actually, the game was in Ann Arbor. Michigan doesn't play MAC teams on the road.

Who is Michigan playing that puts them at 41? And what does FSU's schedule look like?

Georgia goes to Stillwater and Atlanta, and hosts Arizona State. Plus the SEC schedule. Looks tougher than 43 to me.

Sorry! I get weary of 'dynasties' in football, though. It's even worse if it was at home! The Buckeyes are due for a wake up call sooner or later ,too.Teams begin to believe the media hype about themselves methinx.

All but one team FSU faces is a bowl team. And that one that isn't is because we play Miami on Labor Day (Monday) and then on Saturday.

I second this

Also, the way UT played last year (*cough* Wyoming *cough*), there shouldn't be any free wins or byes.

True, but then again, "free wins" are never a guarantee for anybody.
