Well you heard it from millions of people who voted on a poll and i featured the top 10 from that poll in many news updates on the front page of the FINAL FANTASY EXPERIENCE, if you followed the countdown and all my news updates, then you already know the top 10.

my choice for 10 ten characters are as follows

1 -Cloud - my favourite character in my favourite FF game

2 -Sephiroth - the main villian in my favourite FF game

3 -Auron - cool attitude and very powerful in combat

4 - Steiner - two words : comedic relief

5 -Squall - yes he's moody, but he is still a great character

6 -Cyan - kinda like Auron but more along the knight figure

7 -Cid (FF7) - another comedic relief character

8 -Cecil - yes he is a little simple but he still is a great character.

9 -Kain - The confused dragoon has to be on this list, he just has to.

10 - Zell - good addition to the FF8 cast, very funny if a bit full of himself.

1. Kadaj - Love his attitude and look. His name has since become my handle/site name in some variation or another.

2. Balthier - Gotta love the leading man.

3. Cloud - Just awesome.

4. Sabin - My favorite character from FFVI.

5. Mog - From FFVI. The best box art of a Moogle ever created (getting a tatt of it, heh)

6. Auron - Loved the scene where the fiends attacked Luca, and he lets out a little chuckle at a fiend trying to be threatening.

7. Kain - I still pray for a pure Kain spinoff.

8. Squall - Loved the brooding attitude in the beginning, and how his personality realistically evolved during the story.

9. Seifer - Great counterpart to Squall, wish he had more presence in VIII. "Chickenwuss!"

10. Shadow - Interesting character, great music theme, and Interceptor was just cool.

Indeed...except Ultimecia and Gilgamesh were in 8...so, yeah.

Else than Gilgamesh none of them are from 6, and Gilgamesh only comes in the GBA game

Indeed...except Ultimecia and Gilgamesh were in 8...so, yeah.

I was referring to the FFV Gilgamesh. The other ones all sucked. Except for XII. His entrance there was hilarious. As of Ultimecia, I used her as an exception. She's one of the less popular characters in the series.
