Where do you go when you die?

i was just contemplating the possibility that since there are trillions upon trillions of possible worlds in the known universe alone, and that some of these worlds may support life, when we die and if we reincarnate - it is possible that we reincarnate on any one of these potential sentient planets. imagine trillions of worlds supporting life, and in the cycle of reincarnation we never appear on the same planet among souls we've met in former lifetimes. 

or, we rot and the worms eat all that we are.

any other grossly odd hypothetical scenarios out there?

it's possible to be an intellectual religious person. whether you are religious or not it's still a amtter of faith.

i recall the early days of the internets when people used to debate like crazy. now it seems only the diehard fanatics come online to try and convert people over to their religion.

perhaps this explains why Steel has left us? he's become religious... just not a fanatic....

I feel like this needs to be highlighted.

And to go along with Bruno and Harden, the main problem with debating religion is that no one can actually prove/disprove any religion that is based on faith... it just can't happen... which is why arguing almost always goes nowhere.

I do like discussing it with people though, as long as it doesn't turn into a debate. I find it interesting to hear other people's thoughts and why they believe what they believe, and then give them my views/insights while bouncing ideas off one another.

I'm a Christian, but I don't like to debate about religion because it goes nowhere and often devolves into insults.

I go with the approach that I believe what I believe and you believe what you believe, and that's fine with me. I'm not prone to arguing about anything, especially not religion, though I don't mind talking about it.

i believe in God, and i think most atheists who are vocal about it are really just another version of religious fanatics.  

and i appologize for my insanity. i've been playing with my 2 year old son almost non-stop of two days.

Big whoop, I believe in a monotheistic religion; say what you will, but I'm a traditional person, so moralistic confinements keep my depressed self in check, makes me strive to work and all that angsty late teen bogus. It's an essential part of my life, and with it, I've come to understand the prospect of liberty within, and liberty beyond, and everyone is entitled to each of those.  I serve God because in my religion, that is the one and only purpose for our creation. So that's why I do it, don't really care about after-life things, I'm already getting enough benefits as it is alive.
