of the "classic" titles my favorites are Simons Quest and a tie between Super Castlevania IV and Rondo of Blood for second place. Of the more recent castlevania's I like Lament of Inocence and Circle of the Moon the most. Aria was good in that it improved on some of the flaws that dragged down Symphony of the Night, namely in the fact that there is no late game difficulty. Starting a hard game from scratch actually dose pose a bit of a difficulty.

I would say Super Castlevania 4 or Dracula X.  I will put Dracula X first.  As for the new title ... Symphony of the Night followed closely by Dawn of Sorrow.

Can you please do me a favor when you're typing. Use english, or something close to it. also, 2 is not a substitute for the words "to", or "too".

Okay so I'm saying that Castlevania II was the best rpg type Castlevania game and Castlevania IV was the best action style Castlevania game.

A tie between Castlevania: Bloodlines and Super Catlevania IV. These were the first two Castlevania games I ever played and they have a sort of special value.

Symphony of the night is to Castlevania as Resident Evil 4 is to Resident Evil. It's something totally different from anything that's preceded it to the point that some people argue that SotN isn't a Castlevania game because it's so radically different. Which is the same thing a lot of people have said about RE4.

I liked Castlevania 4 a lot, even though it was with weird emulator controls. I never got anywhere far in it therebye, but I liked it a lot. I would appreciate if Konami would support the downloadable game system for Nintendo Revolution so that I could get a fairer idea of the game, oh, and Capcom.

I wanna but my two sense in and say Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the best, I still play it over and over to date.  Alucard is one sick vampire slayer and I think they should make another Castlevania where he's the star and bring back Trevor Belmont to play along side.  I just don't understand why they don't make more 2D Castlevanias, I think they're better.  Guess I'm just old school.

Definitely Symphony of the Night, because of the storyline, the graphics, gameplay, and the music!! The music was the greatest I've ever heard for a Castlevania game, and it's my most favorite game in the series!!

They did bring back Trevor Belmont for Curse of Darkness, but that dummy IGA made a character that wasn't even like Alucard, except for the part that he used to serve Dracula, got tired of helping him try to plunge the world into eternal darkness and turned good! I'm somewhere in the middle on the whole 3D 2D Castlevania debate, since I haven't played all the 2D games in the series yet.

Symphony of the Night is the best Castlevania game in mybook and opinion, and I could play that game over and over again because it's such an awesome game with the immense stroy and all that! They should at least try and make 1 final 2D Castlevania game for the consoles, but I strongly doubt that's going to happen anytime soon.

Symphony of the knight was a triumph that all the games since have been trying to emulate.

I still play it every once in a while.

I've only played about 5 of the games. Out of them I would have to say Symphony of the Night. I'm replaying it right now and I'm happy I am.

I think it would be:

2D

1 Castlevania Symphony of the night (Revolutionary gameplay, RPG elements, Classic castlevanis 2d scrollin, super soundtrack BEST SOLD)

2 Castlevania 3 (Same as before, just a matter of personal opinion =>)

3 Super Castlevania 4 (The best "remake" and gameplay that even NOW its rare to see such as a multidirectional whip)

4 Aria-Dawn of Sorrow ( Good gameplay and good music, i put them in a tie since theyre inovative yet very much SOTN style)

5 Rondo of blood. (borh original and the psp remake)

3D

1 Castlevania Lament of Innocense (what else can i say?)

2 Castlevania Curse of darkness

3 Castlevania 64 (lets face it it was fun)

IMHO this would be the ranking wha do you think??

Favorite Castlevania game you say? Mine is definately a tie between Curse Of Darkness (Which Still Deserves A 360 Compatability)  and Circle Of The Moon.

Probably Castlevania III, I loved the idea of a party of characters taking on Dracula as opposed to just one man/woman. My personal favorite to have playing alongside Trevor was Grant, he was the most usefull I felt, Alucard was usefull for cheating but that was about it, just collect hearts and fly over the annoying parts.

Also Caslevania III was my personal favorite in terms of soundtrack, every track on there I loved, especially Riddle and Stream, It's a shame that these two have not been touched. Well that said, Riddle was remade in Order of Ecclesia, which is another personal favorite of min, quite possibly the best game on the DS, but I'd love to hear stream make a comeback.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHwhxS-gG50 It's so beautifull!

And I know I'm probably going to get a few dirty looks for this, but I absolutely Adore Castlevania 64 and Legacy of Darkness... they really are underappreciated for Castlevania's first attempts at 3D.
