Okay. I thought we could talk about some of the latest books manga and magazines(except porn). Tell me some of the latest books you have read that you couldn't put down. Some of the books that your writing or just love to talk about. The same goes for manga and magazines.

Prey by Micheal Crichton. I had to read this book for chemistry class, and I found it very interesting as well as suspenseful. It is full of death, suspense, technology, and people cheating on their spouses. I highly recommend it.

That sounds like a great book. I just might have to check it out. Some of my favorites are from Micheal Stackpole. His Dragon Cycle Wars are amazing. I love the whole series.

Im reading Moby Dick by Herman Melville right now. Its really good, i suggest it to all of you. WARNING: tons of old slang and oddball nautical terms that you never heard of. try not to get confused, I sure did, anyone know what a monkey jacket is?

some random literature stuff.

- Frog and Toad pwns all!!!!!!! best series ever concieved. yes im serious, i love Frog and Toad.

- Dickens is good... if you skip the 8 chapters he wrights describing the rose bush outside.

- I loath Nathaniel Hawthrone. flippin guy is off his rocker, sheesh.

- whoever mentioned Eoin Colfer: yeah Artemis Fowl aint bad. really good blend of fantasy and sci-fi, plus its funny! did you read the supernaturalist by Colfer? its pretty good.

tman2k, that book looks interesting, may check it out... maybe.

I see we have a classic soul here. I love moby dick to. Frog and toad do pwn and I like dickens but he is depressing. I think nathaniel hawthorne was weird to. I love Tolstoy and Poe is good to. Have you ever read Beowulf in Gaelic. It is really cool.

^ eh im not a big classic lit guy, but i do read my fair share. lately no modern sci-fi books have intrigued me and fantasy IMO is hit or miss. dickens depressing? yeah a little. and hawthorne is a lunatic, i dont even know what he's talking about half the time!

i have never read Beowulf at all yet... i like solid books not little itty bitty fragments of text. but i will check it out one day. i still have to read Gilgamesh! my cousin lent me it and i haven't had the time to get into it. grargh!

ok go ahead with the latter but avoid the former. HP really aint that great, decent story but the writing is mediocre. it had potantial though but Rowling missed the mark. but what type of book are you looking for?

ok i was gonna suggest LOTR b/c its a fantasy book and since you were looking at HP then i thought you would liek LOTR. but did you read Orson Scott Card's works? he's pretty good. my fav was ender shadows i liked it more than enders game which was the original and shadow was the prequel sequel. check out 2 minute mystery books if you can find them, i dont remember who wrote them but its addictive.

Okay. I love LORT series. The Hobit is awesome and is different style than the LORT series. Great SCI-FI books are Micheal Stackpole Dragon War Cycles series and Sean Russels Swan Wars. Absolutely amazing books. Beaowulf is like a real book. It has three parts to it and it is an amazing story. I loved it. What is Gilgamesh about?

Well that is diffenetly not the case with either of these Authors. They hook you and fill it in as they go. They really are great. I personally enjoy Micheal Stackpole he is very fast paced and doesn't let up until the end. Get his New ones to called Cartagraphy series.

There was this book I read in high school once and it was weird. Talking about a baby factory and young kids like 4 and 5 having intimate relations. It was talking about the philisophy of what would happen if we didn't have books or religion to regulate our soceity. I don't remember the name.
