Your most regretted system purchase this gen?

For me, it's the 3DS.

1. Horrible launch
2. Nintendo's most expensive handheld
3. Just a clone of the original DS
4. Graphics look blurry as ****
5. Hasn't aged well in the portable market
6. The only Nintendo console with no new IP's from them.
7. Most of its acclaimed games are derivative and formulaic
8. The Virtual Console is really lacking
9. The 3D effect is an impractical waste of space.

3DS, no way around it.

Vita. Outside of P4G and some old PSP games, I've hardly touched the system.

I don't really have a regretted purchase of a system. They all have their pluses and minuses. I find that I play the handhelds (Vita and 3DS) the least of all my purchases, but I don't regret buying them.

3DS XL

• Terrible UI
• Terrible hardware design
• shit online store
• only has 1 or two games that are actually worth looking at imo
• pokemon still has no voice acting
• the 3D feature is the most useless feature i have ever tried
• got rid of it after 5 months from buying it

Vita is it for me.

I don't regret buying any of my systems. They all have positives and negatives. My PS4 collects the most dust and if I had to get rid of one of them, it would be the one to go, but Uncharted 4 alone is going to make that purchase worth it.

Wow, I'm not the only one who thinks the 3DS sucked.

Last year, it seemed like everyone was defending that damn thing, but it hasnt aged well.

I don't regret purchasing anything.

Spent £1500 on a pc having been told how great it is, basically late mutliplat ports with 2% different and indie games that could run on my £40 tablet. For the most part, it's been a waste of money.

It really pains me to say this, but its definitely my Vita :(

Sony has pretty much abandoned it.

It has a few Gems on the system, but thats it sadly. Its now a remote control/play device basically :(

None, don't really hate any of my systems. I am a bit disappointed in some PS3 exclusives though as I bought a PS3 in 2013.

Codename S.t.e.a.m. is a new IP from Nintendo though...

for me, I haven't made any bad decisions this gen because I did my research and waited for everything to be out for a while first.

Everything cost so much in Cananda nowdays that i think twice before spending my money. So nothing, didn't purchase anything useless.

I do my research before buying a new system, so none.

3DS...

It had some good games and A Link Between Worlds is superb, but it doesn't compare to Wii U and PS4 sees more of my gaming time.

The Nintendo 3DS. I believe the Xbox One will be worth its weight with a Scalebound and how much I'll end up playing a Halo mp game. The 3DS? **** its lineup is pathetic, outside of Link Between Worlds there isn't a single great game for that system. Maybe Monster Hunter 4 will change my mind, but I'm not banking on it considering I've owned the game since February and right when I get started playing it, I'm like "ugh".

I did buy a 3ds, but sold it. Awful piece of hardware, and software wise I don't care much for anything on it.

I bought it for Pokemon but i've sucked that franchise dry now.

I actually don't regret the 3DS, I got to play plenty on it, probably one thing slowing me down is after I got an Xbox One I barely touch my 3DS anymore but the 3DS has lots of great stuff. Sure I admit releases have slown down and that's unfortunate, even makes me angry, but still, don't regret getting one. If anything, I bet it's the NEW 3DS that's the disappointment, new hardware and nothing to play on it other than one very mediocre overrated JRPG.

Even the Wii U has been a disappointment, or become one anyways. It was awesome when I got it late 2013, had an awesome 2014 year, but after that, Nintendo let the praise get to their head and now they're support for it has been shit since announcing NX. Still, don't regret it, might as well remember it as Nintendo's swan song, the NX will be like the chicken that runs around after its head is cut off.

I've a love/hate relationship with Nintendo, I love them for what they give, but hate them for what they don't that they could so easily do but just don't because they're stubborn like a deaf mute blind mule.

It was a gift, but I got an Android Galaxy tab and every game I've played on it sux.

The PlayStation TV. The most I can say is that it was a good way to store my second Memory Card until I got my second Vita. Now it literally is as useless as they come.

I don't regret anything, but I'm not as happy as I should've been with:

• Vita

Insanely expensive memory cards. Everyone dropping support for this, apart from indie devs.

• Smartphone gaming

The power is there but trying to control something by means of a touch screen is just void of fun.

• Wii U

Seems like Nintendo has just given up on this. There was supposed to be more Mario Kart DLC, there was supposed to be more games. Feels like so much unused potential.

Unused potential is the perfect word to describe these systems. I don't regret getting them.

Having been playing the 3Ds much nowadays, although lord knows I played the hell out of it before recently though. Can't say I regret the 3DS at all. Definitely do not regret the Wii U.

I don't think there's any system I regret owning at all.

Since I only have a XO, I'll have to go with that. On the flip side, it's also my least regretted system purchase =p

3DS

Bought it at the UK launch and so far have 6 games for the system. I've only played it for 200 hours in total.

It's my least played handheld out of GB/GBA/GBASP/DS/DSL/PSP.

I don't regret any system purchase. I always do research before I buy something that expensive.

I sort of regret Wii U and PS4.

The Wii U is regrettable simply because of the lack of third party support, and the trickle of exclusives is underwhelming. Nintendo is a ship that has capsized and is slowly sinking, and they believe that the NX is going to pull them out? Unlikely.

I don't regret any of my purchases yet. I might regret buying some games, but not systems.

Well the only console I've purchased in a loooong time has been the PS4. I don't regret it even though the only things I ever plan on doing with it are playing Bloodborne and Disgaea. I knew the score when I bought it....... Fucking exclusives.....

None, I don't regret buying ANY of my systems.

If I can appreciate a CDi then I can love a PS4 and Xbox One when they have no games worth getting besides Rare Replay, Bloodborne and GG Xrd.

Wow so much 3DS hate here. Me personally was the Vita since it was just collecting dust for a year. I ultimately sold it. Good system but no games except Persona 4 and Zero Escape.

This for me too. I ended up getting all the games on PC instead, and my consoles sit there unused for what feels like forever.

PS4 without a doubt.... As a PC owner I still do not have a reason to play PS4, Bloodborne was a major disappointment.

One which doesn't look particularly appealing to me and has a Metascore of 69/100.

When Sony and Microsoft get boatloads of 7/10 titles, nobody cares. But when Nintendo gets a 7/10 title, it's special because it's Nintendo.

I regret buying MGSV on PC. No MGO till January but by that time I doubt I'll get motivated to play it.

But I did regret buying a N64 and a CG. Those 2 and the Virtual Boy are the most useless video game systems I have ever bought.
