Your Handheld Legacy/Favorite?

Because I consider handheld gaming separate from console gaming, I figured I would show the portable scene some love.

Due to being a smaller portion of handheld systems than consoles and how Nintendo has dominated the handheld scene since its inception, I figure we can play the thread like this...

What handheld systems have you owned (old school tiger electronics count. So do cell phones and tablets IF used for gaming)? What is your favorite Nintendo handheld? What is your favorite non-Nintendo handheld? And lastly, what is your favorite game for each of the two favorites?

Owned: Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance SP, Nintendo DS, PSP, Nintendo 3DS, PS Vita. In addition, I also own(ed) an iPad, iPod Touch, LG Optimus T, Samsung Galaxy S2, Nokia 5110, Nokia 3610, Nokia 6600, and Sony Ericsson W700i, all of which were used for gaming at one point or the other too.

My favorite Nintendo handheld? Gameboy Advance SP, although the 3DS is slowly getting there.

My favorite non Nintendo handheld? PSP.

My all time favorite handhelds are Gameboy Advance SP, PSP, DS, and 3DS.

I never had a GameBoy growing up, had a GameGear which was cool since they had an accessory that played the Sega Master System games on it but other than that short lived love affair I didn't own another handheld for like 15 years when I got a DS and PSP.

I had a lot of different ones as a kid that I have no clue what they were call. They all only played one game that was already installed on it. My favorite was football. My first what I would call real handheld was the Gameboy. I had

I would say that the Vita now has enough games to warrant a purchase, so I plan on getting one sometime later this year. And seeing I never owned a PSP, I also have those games to pick through on the PSN store to purchase. I will probably just wait and grab both the Vita and PS4 together.

When I was younger I used to play handhelds all the time, more so than my consoles during that period. I loved my Pokemon themed GBC and my GBA, but once I got a PSP I sort of got tired of the handheld scene. I literally only have like 3 games for my PSP, never used it. It's a shame because it sounds like I missed out on a lot with the PSP.

GameBoy Advance -Didn't play too many games at the time to be honest, but it had some classics that have aged marvelously to this day

Sony PSP - Pretty much got me into gaming and the PlayStation brand in general. I've had three PSPs over my lifetime, two 1000s and my current PSP, the PSPgo. Loved the system to death, though I will say its games haven't all aged as gracefully as the DS or GBA's.

Nintendo DS - Bought it because all my friends in college were buying one. System didn't disappoint a bit and while I will say it couldn't pull a lot of time away from my PSP other than the glorious Super Mario 64 DS during its active lifetime, I found a lot of great games on it towards its latter two years, including Ace Attorney, 999, and Pokemon Black and White.

Nintendo 3DS - Got because it was $99 on Black Friday instead of $250 or $170 as it was. I didn't really use it for the majority of its launch months, then got super hyped for Super Mario 3D Land after I played SMG2. That game was boring and I didn't use the 3DS again. Then I got excited for Ocarina of Time 3D and spent $40 on it, which was a terrible choice for a game that hasn't aged that well even in its remake. I think the first true title I enjoyed on it was Fire Emblem Awakening, which lucky for me was my first Fire Emblem as I later discovered it was pretty neutered from past Fire Emblems. Since then I've liked and enjoyed a few titles, but the only really great games on it are Link Between Worlds and SMT IV, with the latter getting on my nerves recently.

PlayStation Vita - Made up for the lack of fun games on the 3DS in all about thirty minutes of using it. Love this system and it has more great games that I've played in the span of a year than any system I've played on before it, thanks mainly to PS+ being a huge benefactor to the system.

Only handheld I ever owned is a Gameboy Advance SP, my favourite game for it has always been Final Fantasy Tactics Advance with Donkey Kong Country a close second.

I have a GBA SP and a DSi. The former was my first ever handheld so it holds a special place in my heart. Ah those times I played Pokemon FIreRed...

For some reason though I never played too many games on them which is something I regret.
