Xenoblade 2 doesnt deserve its praise

Goddamn JRPG cliche. Currently in chapter 7, just minutes ago some bad king tried to kill my protag lady and now they all merrily happy trying to save some near extinct animals or titans. This game is full of poorly written plots and jrpg cliches, truly doesnt doesnt deserves any praise it got. It only got marks because its a nintendo exclusive. 4/10 so far

But hey, I think this about 75% of the Sony exclusives this gen too. Uncharted/HZD and the likes are all mediocre games in their genres outside of presentation.

Well, what can I say, its another milked mario game. Has the same effect/reaction from me just like another cod game, you understand those overharshed yearly releases

I disagree. I spent a lot of time with the game myself and enjoyed it quite a bit. I’d rate it an 8.5 out of 10.

@sakaixx: Dropping truth bombs here my fine fellow but they will fall on deaf ears. If this was on the steam store or lost in a sea of better games on another console no one will have even remembered it.

The game is good and the DLC is incredible. Not everyone likes JRPGs of course.

its a good game overall imho but it has problems. its the least impressive of the 3 xenoblade games. it was very dissapointing up to the point where the 2 nations are about to go to war and it seems to have picked up since. story wise though is pales in comparison to xenoblade 1 and its not great.

its world is also not that interesting. the wow factor from xenoblade 1 is gone and its just not as interesting as mira from X.

and....yeah....the character design. quite poor.

I mean what did you expect? ??? Sheep haven't had many "big" RPGs since the SNES. The Xenoblade series was as if the devs just ripped off cheap korean MMOs and Monster Hunter then stuffed in random loli porn fanservice.

I concur. Xenoblade 2 looks like crap and still does. The art direction in Xenoblade 2 is shocking and tailored for gamers who love kiddy anime.

Exactly. Can't understand why some gamers are into loli games, especially Xenoblade 2. What were the developers thinking in the first place! Xenoblade 1 > Xenoblade 2

This game is fantastic, and the DLC is EPIC. But 2 points:

1. This game does not even get that much praise, so be real.

2. You feel exactly how I feel about virtually every Sony Exclusive (except Ratchet and Clank JUST LOVE THAT GAME!). They get praised endlessly, and I think they are just ok on a good day.

I think Project Octopath Traveler is about 2x better than anything on Ps4. See opinions are fun :)

Seriously, the overly animated presentation was a major turn off for me. I also disliked the battle system. I thought side quests dragged on. HATED the gacha system as it bogged down the game with a ton of useless blades. Hated the field skill systems because 9 out of 10 times, you wouldn't have the proper skill or have it leveled enough. Fucking Tiger Tiger. Tora was stuck with Poppi so he was boring as shit. The story was essentially "We're too fucking weak! We need to increase our friendship power levels!" Seriously, tropey as ****. Only thing I loved about the game was the world design. Honestly, I feel it got a lot more hype than it should have because it was the big game after Odyssey and Switch owners forgave a lot of its faults because they were ecstatic to finally play a big RPG on it.

I like seeing the order that people like of these 3 games.

I LOVE the open world of Xenoblade X it was amazing trying to 100% that game. The story was....something, but I sure love me some great exploration! Wahoo!!

Yeah, the world design was excellent in XCX, but the problem was the rest of the game felt so soulless. I couldn't connect to any of the characters, especially my own, and didn't give a damn about the story.

That is exactly how I felt, but I am just addicted to amazing world design. That game had so much to find it was just ridiculous. I love how the world was divided up and there was something to find in every hexagon on the map. Some of the discoveries only the most diehard could ever hope to find. I wish more games were like that. (It almost reminds me of Everquest in that way)

Truth. Fuk those field skills, why the fuk we need to level up those useless blades, they arent even useful in battles and we still need to level their skills just because unique blades doesnt have enough field skill levels.

I highly doubt that you have even played the series. I get that most on here only come on to bash things that they never play, it is what it is. All you can be is you :)

I own all of the systems, and play most of the main releases for all three (easy this year being that Microsoft barely had anything). Some of us have the ability to be more objective than others. Just sayin'.

@djoffer: Yeah exactly. It's the same old tinfoil hat talk about Nintendo games being over scored on here. 7/10 is a fair number for Xenoblade 2.

It was alright but I got bored with it. It didn't help that the cutscenes and voice acting didn't match well. Definitely not as good as the first game.

I will say at least the music was excellent.

JRPG bruh. Dunno what you expected. I remember Xenoblade Chronicle X being super cheesy and silly. That's how it goes.

You are kind of like me with most Sony games. I bought God of War and cannot figure out what is so great about it. Highly overrated in my opinion.

Stopped playing shortly after obtaining all the blades including kos-mos. Still, game was enjoyable while it lasted. Once you figure out the optimal party and damage, game is too easy.
