Since Nintendo does not disclose how much it costs (whether in yen or U.S. dollars) to develop its games, I wonder how much it spent to develop Tears of the Kingdom. It must have cost much less than the AAA games that most Western studios make.
Xbox needs Japanese studios, but they close Tango? I don't get it.
This is why Nintendo is so successful, they nurture talent and rarely get rid of staff.
Nintendo games has a significantly smaller development cost to that of the games MS and Sony develops or back. Folks may shit on the Switch for being weak but it has the advantage of lower graphical expectations and lower cost.
And the end result is still higher regarded critical games.

Do not pay attention to what i buy. Remember, i am an Ascended Cow that has options. You're not yet there, and you might never get to my level, but if you want to test your faith, begin with a ps5 and see where it leads you.

Like i said, i am not a hermit, and i will never become one. But if i have access to games that run at over twice the frames and better graphical settings, then there's no reason for me to suffer on the PS5. This is what you have trouble understanding.

There are plenty of things that Nintendo does that I have issues with but never the less they make a lot of awesome games.
Their games don't have PS5 and Xbox Series X graphics but it doesn't matter because at the end of the day their games are still amazing and very fun. And they don't spend billions of dollars on buying other companies just to close them down like what Sony and Microsoft does.
Blame Gamepass for low sales of good games like Hi-Fi Rush (which is on Humble Choice this month along with Like A Dragon, if you want good games on the cheap). MS can't expect to see goo sales numbers when the majority of their customers base are getting to play the game for free.

I see a lot of shots at Phil over today's Xbox announcements. I get it. But knowing him as a human, I know this hurts him as much as anyone else. I can't speak for all of the leadership there, but I do know him and I do know what he is likely going through.

Microsoft has always been disappointing. Although Sony is plagued by "American Wokism" (like anybody else), at least their focus hasn't changed.

He was the Executive Producer on Hi-Fi Rush; he left right after the game released.
It sounds like there was a divide between what Mikami and Tango wanted to do vs what Xbox wanted.
