The best controller ever created has finally come to the PC!
Dream come true, 1080p, 60fps with an xbox one controller *tear*
This topic is locked from further discussion.
360 controller is better than xbone controller though, and pc already support it. DS4 support would be best, does exist driver for it?
Unfortunately, it's a DUPE THREAD. Their OP is longer too, so they took their time putting in some content in the OP.

Have a nice day.
I can think of literally 0 situations where I'd use this instead of a mouse and keyboard.
EDIT: Unless I've somehow completely missed the point of this.

i'm already playing with the best controller on my pc, the ps4 controller.
@PraetorianMan: what about to play Fifa, or Racing Games ? Keyboard and mouse is practically unplayable for those type of games. Based on your comment though I take it those games don't interest you.
I've been a PC gamer since November, I still find it hard to adjust to keyboard and mouse, I love the accuracy you have in shooters with the mouse, and the speed you can aim at.
How ever it doesn't feel natural and precise when moving quickly using a keyboard. An example of this was a platforming section on Black Plague, I just couldn't do it with Keyboard and mouse. So I used Pinnacle Game Profiler. and used my 360 controller for it.
I may get used to it eventually
I suppose it's good for the one or two games that need it. Then again, that's why I also have a driving wheel/pedals and joystick which are good for certain genres.
DualShock3 and DualShock4 already have multiple way of getting them to work in windows...
This driver apparently works for both DS3 and DS4 wired or bluetooth and emulates an Xbox360 controller and is much much better than motioninjoy, and supports multiple controllers at once.

DS4 I believe works without any additional drivers via USB...
Just bought a new One controller for $40. Don't plan on getting an Xbox One, but the controller seems okay enough to replace the Xbox 360 controller.
360>>>X1 controller
nah i like the xbone controller a lot better. Fits even better in my hands. 360 controller is still great though.

It is far from unplayable, I play Racing Games with the Keyboard all the time (and the xbox controller is just right next to me), I just prefer it and also I have more fun playing Racing Games with a Keyboard.
Anyone who thinks keyboard and mouse is better for racing games obviously have never tried using a control pad before... same with games like Dark Souls, you are not getting the full experience with just a keyboard with digital input. I would like to see you play something like say project cars with a keyboard and mouse without any driving assists (yes I know you can use a wheel) and say it's better.
Mouse and keyboard is only good for strategy games and first person shooters/third person shooters. I remember the good old days with the Amiga where use of both was essential, some games didn't support mouse/keyboard, some games didn't support control pad, I don't know why PC had shitty support for control pads for so many years.
Ive been waiting a while for this. Not for the regular controller as my wired xbox360 controller is fine for PC. But I have that Killer Instinct FightStick for XB1 that I have been dying to use for PC SF4. Yay
probably running in 792p as well
To have a perfect balance between PC and Xbone, MS said that when you plug in the controller, the games will automatically run at 792p and 30FPS.
This advanced technology will be demonstrated for the first time in the upcoming Dead Rising 3.
Am I the only one who thinks the real low point of the XBone is the new controller? The 360 controller was SO GOOD. I didn't think they could possibly mess this up but they did.
The Xbone controller isn't bad. Its just that the 360 controller was PERFECT (minus the dpad). I actually think the PS4 controller feels better (and closer to the feel of the 360). For feel, I'd give the 360 controller a 10, the PS4 a 9, and the Xbone controller an 8. Neither are controller are deal winners or breakers.

3rd person action games are generally better with a controller, like Watch Dogs. Analog walking is where it's at so you don't have to perma-run, and driving is also greatly improved with a controller. The menus on the smartphone were also designed with a controller in mind, offering an awkward virtual analog stick for mouse users.
The problem with this update is that there's no wireless option, nor any mention of an impending wireless dongle. They've even said the feature may never arrive, which is depressing for people like me that play PC games on their TV in another room.
I tested out the One controller last light. The rumble was pretty strong and pronounced. I tried it on Snipe Elite v2 and Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs seemed to feel notably better. Don't know if it's using impulse triggers or not, but it felt a lot different than the 360 controller I've been using. Sucks that it's wired, though.
when you get used to it..
lmao
Too late, OP, everyone's already using the superior Dual Shock 4.
The Xbone controller doesn't seem different enough from the 360 controller to justify an upgrade. The DS4 looks kind of cool, but for the life of me I can't figure out the point of the track pad.
Get that DS4 support sony.
DS4 had support from Day 1. It's still up to the devs to make use of it though. RIght now using the DS4 works for some games, but they think it's an xbox controller when it comes to button prompts and things
Yeah it does. I mean proper support.
Anyways that one controller is blegh compared to the 360 controller

But we are on a PC; why not just get a driving Wheel for driving games? Kind of the point with an open platform to have whatever control method you chose (for the record, I dislike driving games, and outside of Carmageddon and Mario Kart games I don't play any). Personally I would not use kb/m but a flight stick with flight sims (or most flying games indeed) and I would not let a controller nowhere near such a game either.
I like the DS4 on the PC mainly because I can use it wirelessly with bluetooth. I'll give the x1 controller a shot though, even if I do have to connect it to the micro USB.

Why would you want that when the X360 works out of the box?
I just use my PS4 controller usually. Lately I've been playing a lot of fighting games though, so using a usb Saturn controller for those... yeah I'm too lazy for a fight stick.
