Eh... It's still too expensive for my tastes. I'll be all over it when it hits 200.famicommander
You must not be playing ANY game consoles right now then. The Wii is $250, so that must be too expensive for you as well.
As for the price drop. It's a welcome, but M$ really needs to drop the price in Japan and in Europe (again) to really start moving some hardware. They'll move a lot of systems this holiday. I would love for them to keep the 360 Arcade and drop it down to $199 or at least $229. That would be awesome, but I doubt they will do this. Most likely they will phase out the 360 Arcade just before the holidays which isn't really a great idea.

Arcade already cheaper than the Wii there, and the Pro a similar price. Price drops don't do everything you know.I may just have to go out and buy a 360.Mr_lulz
you definitely should if you don't have one already and have any interest in it.

The 360 just isn't as appealing to me. I hate console FPS, I hate racing sims and arcade racers, I hate sports games, I refuse to pay for online, and I'm terrified of the RROD. The PS3 is much more interesting to me (but it's also too expensive). I enjoyed the hell out of Dead Rising, Kameo, and a select few other 360 exclusives. But nothing that makes it worth 300 dollars. I expected a lot more out of the Wii, but I bought it for Nintendo's first party franchises and that's what I'm getting. Galaxy, Zelda, Brawl, Mario Kart, and Metroid are worth the price of the Wii to me. If I get Animal Crossing, Pikmin, F-Zero, Wave Race, Wario Land, Kirby, another Zelda, and a real DK game before it's all over I'll be satisfied with the Wii.It's sad that last gen $300 was the launch price... and here we are a good three years into this gen and getting excited about a "cheap" $300 SKU.
Kinda insane.

Whats more sad is that it will only be $50 more expensive than the wii.

Price drops don't do everything you know. They do move hardware and with the right bundle, they could move a lot more in Europe then what they already are doing. Japan is pretty hopeless, I know. Even if the 360 had a big FREE sign on it, I'm sure many Japanese gamers would walk by it and not give it a second thought. That's just the way they are over in that country. So you're right, it wouldn't do much in Japan.

Also, many of the XBox 360 games comes with a 30 days free XBox Live trial, so you could easily play online for FREE for several months before decided if it was worth a 1 yr purchase (which is truly is of course).
To each his own.
Is it getting cold in here. But seriously that is good news, to bad I paid more than that about a month ago.-Sphere-
That cliche is so old.
I will buy a 360 when the finally decide to fix the RRoD, which by the time the next Microsoft console will be released, so it wont really matter. :P

What games come with a 30 day free trial? I know games like Halo 3 came with a 48 hour trial but not 30 days.

F-Zero, Wave Race, and Mario Kart aren't even comparable to other racers and you know it. The reason I like them is because they're so wildly different than the norm. And I agree entirely that the PS3 is too expensive, which is why I do not own one yet. But Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, and Virtua Fighter 5 (I know the 360 version is better, but I prefer the PS3 d-pad) are more up my alley than most 360 games. And no, Xbox Live is not worth 50 dollars. PC online gaming is far superior, and it's free for most games. You hate racing sims and arcade racers, but you're going to buy Mario Kart, Wave Racer and F-Zero? The PS3 has pretty much the same FPS, racing sims, sports games, etc.....as the XBox 360 does, but their system costs more. if they really want to sell like crazy, drop the Arcade to the "sweet spot" $199.
Sure hardcore gamers like us dont care for Arcade, but working-class income families will eat it up.
I think it's great, really really great that people can pay less for an RROD !
Good thinking MicroGod, I can't wait to buy my 3rd 360 !
XboX, i hugs it .
