Obviously the PS3's price will drop, but when?

If they announce it at this E3, systems wars and fanboy's a like will have a hay-day of Sony admitting that they screwed up so to speak. But Joe Schmo in Wal-mart will see that the PS3 may only be slightly more or equal to the 360's price, and they get the Playstation name that they are familiar with.

everything sells better when it';s cheaper. except a kick in the balls or cancer. then again those aren;t for sale so i guess humanity is safe for now.

$500 wont make a difference. The PS3 was already at that point and didnt sell. It needs to get to $400 to make a dent.

Some consoles have had price cuts before but they still didn't sell well.

Yeah, it will make a difference. A price change always does. The $500 one wasn't mass produced either way.

a price cut wont hurt, but i dont think it will all of a sudden be the best selling system because of it. remember the 360 is cheaper then ps3 and has better games at the moment and it is still being outsold by the Wii, despite it having some cool arse games.

Because buyers wanted the $600 version mainly. I know a lot of people that will buy a PS3 as soon as it drops the price

Confirmed, we will see a $250 price cut. Sony really needs to get these PS3s out there with more software on the way. Take the losses in hardware and get back in the green with the software and peripherals!
