Worst year in gaming in a while ?

Looking back on this year in gaming I can't help but feel it was pretty f*cking sh*tty overall.

So many disappointing and flat out bad games.You get your generic Halo and Cod ofcourse, that are good for what they are but who gives a sh*t.

The only truly great game that left an impression on me and I can think of the top of my head this year is Dishonored.Thats pathetic.. I've played 10s and 10s of games this year. I usualy can recall atleast few great games each year.

Now I only remeber the huge disappointments like. Diablo 3, Street Fighter X Tekken, FF 13-2, Assains Creed 3, Mass Effect 3 ending on launch. RE6 "Uncharted edition" ect ect. Also how pretty damn good games like Sleeping Dogs didn't sell at all.

Its just bad.

Dunno maybe its just be but imo this year just sucked wen it comes to games. Whats your take on this, do you feel the same ?

I have had way to many games to play. Between All-stars, all the PSM games, and backlog of PSP/Ps1 games . . . I AM SWAMMPED!

Frankly this was one the best gaming years ever

1. Dark Souls Artorias (more of the best action/RPG ever)

2. Witcher 2 xbox 360 (best WRPG of all time and then some)

3. Halo 4 (best shooter of all time and then some)

4. Mass Effect 3 (amazing)

5. Dust Elysian Tale (one of my top 2D action/RPGs)

6. Fablke Journey (one of the best fairy tale action/RPGs and the most charming game of 2012 by miles)

I feel the same. Luckily I still have many games from earlier that I didnt get to play, so I finally bought Red Dead Redemtion and Deus Ex HR. Hopefully next year will be much better with Final Fantasy vs XIII, The Last of Us and maybe even The Last Guardian.

It's been a pretty crappy year for consoles maybe, I wouldn't know, but for gaming it's been an awesome year, PC gaming specifically. Some of the best games I've ever played have come out.

IMO its been a strong year, with games i still want to really play, some tops are borderlands 2, and i guess black ops 2 is a good improvment, AC3, halo 4, wii u i dont have but it looks like a lot of fun, then there is a good amount of downloadable games that were good also, so i think its been good, during the summer no but when fall came it was pretty sick.

I play only consoles and I thought it was a fine year.

It wasn't a bad year, but in comparison the the past few years, it didn't have as many heavy hitters as previous years. I still had lots of fun with games like Max Payne 3, Borderlands 2, and Torchlight 2. Next year will be great though and be a worthy closer year to the 7th gen of consoles.

Had far more than that including easily the best game I've encountered in the last few years DayZ. It was a glorious year.

You are a console gamer, Diablo 3 is the PC game console gamers know of. The PC had endless amazing games this year, if you were a PC gamer you would have experienced at least some of them. It wasn't a guess, it's just what you are.

I had quite a bit of fun this year, so whatever.

Anyways, SSX 2012 killed my favorite franchise for me, so I'd say this year has been mediocre on the console side of things for me. PC has been good, though.

This is easly one of the best years in a while, so many great games this year, just as good as 2011.

Overall I'd agree. This year wasn't so great. Not for me anyways.

But reading your op, its no wonder you feel that way. Seems you're only looking at the big "AAA" franchises to deliver. That just doesnt work this gen. Most of the best games this year aren't the ones you see hype threads for on SW.

You need to try some different stuff. And maybe get a gaming PC while you're at it.

And again where is this "2012 was crap for games" BS coming from? I played a lot of great games this year. Mass effect 3, max payne 3, Dishonored, Assassin's creed 3,Hitman Absolution, Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2 and Sleeping Dogs. 2012 was great

Plenty of decent-amazing games this year, outside of the endings ME3 and AC3, they were amazing. Far Cry 3 comes out next month which should be amazing. Yeah some games got pushed back into 2013, be thankful that they got pushed back and not canned, I'm still pissed off at Blizzard for canceling Starcraft Ghost.
