Witcher 3 mod community capable of surpassing Skyrim?

The developers have already stated the mod tools will be release soon after launch of the game. Now that the Witcher 3 will be huge with lots of content all around it would be have a huge potential in matching Skyrim. Not to mention the game has a better engine that means graphic mod could run better.

You think the community will grow as big as Skyrim? I can see a lot of nude mods for it lol

The Witcher doesn't need a mod community..... so far their games actually work....

Hopefully there won't be as much mods to fix the game. But shhh don't mention mods and how how inferior the console version will end up becoming.

I doubt it, skyrim was pretty much a game made to be modded, i do hope witcher 3 to be great for other reasons.

CDPR did release mod tools for TW2 but those tools have got nothing on Bethesdas ES Construction Set. I recon we may see mod tools for TW2 but probably a fair few month after release.

Doubt it. The only game I could realistically surpass Skyrim in mod community is Neverwinter Nights 3

Witcher games have never launched without bugs or broken mechanics.

I suspect GTA V (PC) will become the new king of mod'ing.

Witcher 2 didn't work otherwise there wouldn't be countless threads on how to optimize the game for ur rig + combat was clunky or a "hit miss"

Probably not. The Elder Scrolls series has a long history of mods with a dedicated modding community and is far more popular. The base of Elder Scrolls is also easier to mod and there are better tools to support modding.

One would assume Bethesda would do everything in their power to keep their next game as easily moddable as their past games.

Elder scrolls has a huge existing mod community, there is just no way witcher 3 will be as big. The tools that bethesda give out and the ease of modding is up there with the best..

I doubt Witcher 3 will be as easy or have a big modding community. But even if it's 1 / 3rd the size, that will be many mods.

Give us a multiplayer mod and I'll be good

If it's anything like Witcher 1 and 2 probably not... crappy throwback engines .... with heavy limitations.

Honestly... I don't know why everybody fanboys over The Witcher series like this, great graphics and story, but gameplay has been a swing and a miss twice so far.... and its exploration, variety is so limited the games had you fetch questing the same crap over and over.... and less than 10 enemy variety.

People mock skyrim.... but it was a far different game, and better in many aspects of it's own.

Don't forget that The Witcher doesn't even need [as many] nude mods either, it's already built in!

No. I love the Witcher, but The Elder Scrolls mod community is something truly special built up over more than a decade. The Witcher 2 doesn't have nearly as many mods as Morrowind (which lost a good number to closing websites), let alone Skyrim. Skyrim has more mods than Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas combined.

Only thing it needs is better grass. I really want to get into using REDKit when it gets Witcher 3 support.

I dont even know any mods for Witcher 1 and 2... I doubt 3 will be any different. But then again, the others werent open-world games

The combat rebalance mods for Witcher 1 and 2 were some of the most popular mods for those games. Likewise I expect a similar mod for Witcher 3.

Witcher 3 is a game. Skyrim was a tech demo for the mod community to DIY story, graphics, bugfixes, character models, everything. They gave them a shell and charged them 60 dollars. Witcher 3 is the finished article it doesn't need a mod community.

if they actually release mod tools early i can see witcher 3 becoming quite big in mod community ( not sure if it will be as big as skyrim ) . But that is only if they release mod tools early and not like they did with Witcher 2

Mod tools came out for witcher 2 like two years after release. The game also didn't have sheer scale for modding to really benefit it compare to skyrim.
