The only problem with that is the revenue it split between 100's of companies.

PC games sell worse then console games. Where have you been the last 30 years? PC games sales have increased, that's true, but in a years tally, console and handheld game sales easily eclipse PC game sales.

PC does have more games mainly because it's an open platform and 100's of developers are always making PC games. Unfortunately the majority of Indie PC games barely sell 2K-3K copies or even get a publisher. That's why XBL, PSN & STEAM have been so important to Indie developers.

I'm genuinely surprised at how dopey console gamers appear to be.

I'm talking about in general, like PC games coming out at the same time as their console counterparts (GTA V), better ports, gettings console exclusives (RDR, FF, SO), more modding support and things like that. I'm sure a lot of people would love if that would ever happen (it actually can since next-gen are PC-like consoles).

You must be new to this. I remember the days when PC developers made games that took full advantage of the best PC hardware on offer. A lot of the times, even the high end PCs couldn't max a game when it was released. 

Now everything is made for the 360/PS3 and ported over to PC. Soon it'll be PS4/X1 ports for the PC.

It's kind of 50/50 console/PC, it pretty much has the best of both worlds, well almost.

It will not 'save PC gaming', it will provide PC gamers with a much needed alternative to Windows, which is increasingly becoming more and more of a closed, console like system. donalbane

As a PC gamer, nothing interesting for me. This is Valve's attempt to gain the console userbase and that's fine. I'm just not interested.

The left touchpad should just be a thumbstick for movement,  the right touchpad should be raised a bit higher so your thumb rests more naturally.  Its kinda weird cuz when I heard Valve was coming out with a controller,  what i described above is what I envisioned.  I was sorta close..
