Wii is the PWNAGE; 2008 is not the year of the PS3

Enough with the threads that this is the year of the PS3. Wii is outselling the PS3 5-to-1 on a regular basis in Japan, and has more than double the PS3's entire install base worldwide.

If you want to claim that the PS3 is having a bit of a comeback, and might eventually take second place next year, fill your boots - but don't say that 2008 is the year of the PS3 and that Sony's back, etc., etc., that's just simply not true.

Recall the scorecard as of right now is:

Wii - 21 million
360 - 18 million
PS3 - 9 million

And don't start with the whole, "sales don't matter" speech. We all know in system wars that sales are the most objective standard we have for measuring a console's success (for example, the PS2 winning last generation).

The ps3 past 10 million months ago and its out selling the 360 worldwide month after month after month think about it this way if america is the 360 home town and it only beating the ps3 by 5-10k then imagin what kind of sales the ps3 is getting worldwide also the ps3 is at around 12.5 million where the hell did you get 9 from?

9 million was from Sony's December fiscal report. Also, beating the 360 in sales isn't much to brag about. And don't act as if it's selling soo much better everywhere else. It's failing harder in Japan than it is in the US. The only place you have to fall back over is Europe.

Its kinda sad how the Wiis attachment rate is 3.4 while the 360 has 4.7 and the PS3 4.6. It may be selling hardware, but games are not moving muchkenshinhimura16

Sony has sold about 10.5 million PlayStation 3 machines worldwide, fewer than the 20 million Wii machines and 17.7 million Xbox 360 consoles sold globally.

The wii was announced to just sell over 23/4 million. These numbers seem a bit off :|

Playa cows have been saying this since the start of 2007. Now I am not saying you are a cow. I am just saying, cows have been saying, the next year is their year. Mean while sheep, alpha moms and soccer moms are happy with the handful of games they will have for their Wii.

A Lemming or a 360 owner would never be happy, with only a few good games per year, let alone for a console whole cycle.

ps 3 has 25 or so exclusive made be sony in 2008. go look it up on ign.com us release dates.

FFXIII probably isn't coming out this year. The rest of that list looks fine to me though I would substitute Resistance 2 for KZ2.
