Why didn't anyone tell me that Battlefield Bad Company was better than COD4??

Been playing COD4 for a while now, love it. Last weekend, I was at a pawn shop, and picked up Battlefield: Bad Company for $15 on a whim. The single player was ok. When I tried the online, I was BLOWN AWAY. Same basic gameplay as COD4, but the maps are WAY bigger and more complex. You can swim out to islands and snipe from it, you can climb way high onto construction cranes and pick people off, you can pack a jeep with C4 and blow people up, or you can get into the heat of battle, COD4-style. Pretty much every building can be entered. Much more squad tactics are needed in this game too. It's not a fragfest where you run into a bad guy every 5 seconds. The maps range from pretty big to absolutely HUGE, and it is so fun to snipe people from like a mile away. The vehicle use is a lot of fun too, and multiple players can kick butt from a tank or hummer.The graphics are better than COD4, IMO.

The only downside is a somewhat limited gun selection, and no real choice in gunsights. There is also sometimes some lag, but I usually just log out of online and then log back in, and it is ok.

Why doesn't this game get more love? I have been OBSESSED with this game since I got it. So much fun.

Bad COmpany 2 can't come soon enough.... but the real gem is going to be when DICE delivers us Battlefield 3jg4xchamp

Exactly. What I'm especially happy about is they removed that 'sluggish' feeling of bad company 1. The whole game just looks so polished. I can't wait for this game :D

Hahaha, that's funny because I just realized that same thing too. I was sick of COD4 so I went to blockbuster to get a game and I decided to give Battlefield Bad Company a chance. It turns out the game is awesome and I really don't feel like returning it, the story mode was actually good and a lot of fun, plus the online is great and very addicting. And I was saying to my friends, if this game just came out before COD4 maybe it could have been huge, but we shall never know!

I own both games and yes BC is really really good...but it simply lacks the polish that COD:4 does plain and simple. Look at how empty and bland the inside environments are. The ranking system does not make sense nor does it work properly. There are a lot of issues with BC. Like how everyone can see you on radar when you get shot, (I still don't know how the targeting on the map works when you get hit) grenades that are almost useless, unbalanced SMGs and Shotguns and the maps can be a little TOO big at times. People team kill when you take the vehicle they want etc.... Oh and why can i KNIFE a door down faster than I can SHOOT a door down? I played it for about 2 months non stop then went back to Duty. I have big hopes for BC2 but honestly I don't think it's going to be a better GAME than MW2. Vehicles are nice and all but when you add too much craziness in multiplayer it really makes the game a little too N00b friendly and hectic.

BC is fun game, but I liked COD4 more because it had a lot more of those "Oh Snap!" moments.

Yeah, you should also give Battlefield 1943 a try.For $15 dollars the game is f-ing amazing.

CoD has a much bigger, and more competitive community for a reason. I can't help but feel CoD4 is way more balanced > BC, and you'd have to be a fool to think that BC2 will out beat MW2.

If you think BFBC was goof you need to try battlefield 2 for the PC. The graphics might be outdated but the gameplay is better than bad company(ignoring the destructable buildings which is awsome).illegalimigrant

Bad company is my favorite FPS that is out right now, I just got finished yesterday with ALL of the trophies except for 3 of them (The 10,002 kills, half and all of the awards I have yet to achieve). I collected all of the cold and collectables, reached rank 25, and got the "theres no I in squad" trophy.

I feel so proud of getting them, it took me forever.

I just got this game a few weeks ago. Single and Multiplayer are both really fun. I like how you take their dogtag when you knife.

I've been trying to covert people to BFBC but no one will listen, everyone is hooked on COD4 and they can't be bothered to try anything else. COD4 is a great game and the first time I died online I was SHOCKED to see that I could just instant respanwn... like I was blown away. The prestige and weapons options also pleased me.

Ultimately though I couldn't stay away from BFBC. The maps are epic and it just FEELS more like a real battle. It's more tactical and the battle literally moves throughout towns during a game and as it moves it leaves a graphically stunning wake of destruction. Yes you do have to wait like 7 seconds for each respawn which can get annoying but really you're not going to be dying nearly as much as you would be in COD4.

2 problems (IMO) that BFBC online has are

1- 1/4-1/2 of all players want to be snipers ESPECIALLY on bigger maps. If you don't like being a sniper then you're going to have to get used to just dying randomly as you travel across the map.

2- After level 25 I lost most of my motivation to continue playing. The added incentive of experience points is something you get addicted to and when thats taken away the online game experience feels like it's missing something big.
