it does make more sense, but convincing all of system wars to agree to using gamerankings would be a nightmare.

No, allot of sites give crap reviews and they are also included in Gamerankings' system. I find it far from reliable.

gamerankings suck. There are a lot of sites they shouldn't be including yet they do. Just use the gamespot standard, perhaps IGN a bit, but certainly not gamerankings.

Because you might have 50 reviews for one game and 100 for another. Is that fair ? And the overwhelming majority of the sources are laughable to boot. That makes it worthless to me.

Nike_Air

still might be more reliable than 1 review though.

Using reviews period is pointless since each system has different standards so you can't accurately compare reviews between consoles. Using Gamerankings is even less accurate since you have a mess of sites with different review systems all bunched into one score.

Because it uses reviews like Yahoo games and other sources that are not very well proclaimed in game sites.

Everybody does this whole gamerankings suck crap, well guess what GS scores are right there with IGN, 1up, gameinformer, gamepro and some of those other review sites and mags you dont want. so nothing would really change. If anything we use for hype and flop threads gamespot. but for overall library debate. gamerankings is way more valid because it offers who a game did critically across the board not just gamespot.

It's odd that no one mentions that both sites are under the same company. I mean we have a direct link on every page to GameRankings.

Nike_Air

yes in fact it is much more fair than having one review per game. it's all math; the more reviews you have the more the general opinion of the game is represented. using yourexample if one had 50 reviews for one game and 100 for another you would end up with one game with good representation and one game with very good representation. if you had two games with 1 review each you would just have two games with poor representation.

We should use our own formula.

Calculate the 'System Wars' score by using something like 50% Gamespot and 50% Gamerankings. Or something of that sort.

Like the Church of England recently made gaming review site. 0/10 for all Sony games.

/fake

but you get my point. There are Christian review sites out there.

Why don't we go by reviews at all because reviews=ass.

Seriously Dragon Ball Z Budokai outscored Street Fighter III: Third Strike on both GS and GR.

Odin Sphere scored lower then Final Fantasy XII.

What does that tell you?
