Which system has more people playing online: The Xbox 360 or the PS3

I'm just curious about which system has more people playing online.

I have Call of Duty 4 on the 360 and you never have to wait more than a a couple seconds to join a match - a friend of mine has it for the PS3 and has to wait like 5 minutes for a match. I think there is probably a problem with his internet connection or something but maybe less people are playing it on the PS3?

Ps3 has each member that owns a console, remember, they don't have to pay for online AND Cable ;) But yes the 360 has more online, though i've not had a problem finding any matches online on PSN only for select minor titles like Go! Puzzle and Gripshift.

The PS3 matchmaking problems in COD4 aren't because of the lack of members. It's because Infinity Ward under-estimated their server capacity, and because not everyone has the required ports forwarded on their router. The incoming patch will fix all the problems - tell your friend to remain patient.

Microsoft said they had 7 milliom members at E3. And Sony currently has around 5.5 million sold. So...Eponique

360 has more active online accounts then the ps3 has consoles sold. So with that in mind the answer is 360 hand's down.

On a side note, Halo 3 alone typically has almost 1 million players online in any 24 hour period. While Halo 2 still puts around 100k online each day. You can see those numbers at www.bungie.net.
