Which series is the king of multiplayer shooters, Halo or Unreal Tournament?

CS probably.... UT is excellent too... I like UT better than CS though

Battlefield is the correct answer. Games are about having fun, not people yelling n00b in your ear or pwnz0ring you with their 1337 sk1llz. Halo does have better vehicle physics though. Battlefield with Halo-physics would be awesomecake.

The franchise has more multiplayer variety than any game listed in this thread. Halo 1 multiplayer was pretty good, but not of UT calibur. Halo 2's multiplayer, on the other hand, is trash. Mainly due to poor balancing. Cite all the awards you want to..UT2004 was far superior to Halo 2 in the multiplayer department.

halo2 online. still like 50k people who play to this day its just awesome. console shooters halo2 by far im not sure its fair to get pc in on it though.......im_different

Personally I find the lack of choices insulting where is counter strike ??

However of those two unreal is the logical choice, halo is fun but it's not on the level of unrealimo.

oh dude they must have the final judgement on all games, it MUST be a better game! not, UT owns Halo so badly, I wonder if hardcore Halo fans have ever played it. UT has the fast action game play that I love. I found Halo way too slow for my liking.

In my opinion, it's always been Quake. The series may not be that great presently, but that dosen't stop me from enjoying Quake 1-2-3 online more than UT2k4.

Now, I play CoD:UO, Serious Sam CO-OP and Counter-Strike: Source.

Although, UT is the king of mods. Well co-king with Half-Life and Thief 2.

Looking at it Halo won multiplayer game of the year when it went up against UT. If UT was that great it would of beaten it.

Don't like either multiplayers but i'd go with Halo, just cause the elitisem around UT is annoying..although the fanboyism around Halo is pretty poor at times to.

Sure H2 was more deserving, beacuse of its position as the first great console online game, but UT04 is most defitnaly better..............

Hell unlike Halo 2, it had virtually NO single player, and managed a 9.4...

Ha UT Eliteism is nothing compared to Halo elitism....... Or the general people on XBL. Hell I know, I played both Halo 2 and UT04 online...... THough I still only play UT online.

Hell after 3 years UT04 also holds up much better.....

On the PC, I'd say Halo for LAN games is more fun. For online, Unreal is much better than Halo.

But I still play Wolf:ET more than both after all these years...

Wrong, Halo 2 won because it brought a new multiplayer era to the consoles, take it from someone whos played both, Halo 1 online was better than Halo 2 ... but consolites didnt get that right?

soemthignt hat mainstreams online to the consoles ... over UT2004 , which at the end of the day was jsut a huge revamp/game mode/vehicles addition to UT2003 ... it got marked down for not doing that in the first place.
