When wold Microsoft or Sony announce their next console?

If it's as late as E3 2013, no way would they come out for the holiday season.

Any other events before E3 that are important that they could do it at?

MS will show something at E3. Only question is, will they show something before E3?

Sony will probably show something at E3.

E3 2013
Sony: PS Omni, Uncharted 4, Killzone 4, and Wipeout all launch to window games

MS: Next Xbox, Kinect 2.0, Fable 4, Project Gotham Racing 5, and Ryse all launch to window games.

Nintendo (Yeahhhh buddy):
Next 3D Mario, Smash Bros 4, Retro's new game, Monolith's new Ip, and Yoshi's Island.

The Vita was announced 13 months before its release in North America. No way would they announced a new console five months before launch, unless you guys are saying the new consoles might come later.Drasonak

360 pulled that off, so yeah, there is a way. We didn't see the 360 until right at E3 month, and then bam it was released that same year.

It's also probable that each console manufacturer could craft a show made just for the the debut event or CES.

KillZone 4 demo w/ Omni viewer
Uncharted 4

Next 3D Mario
Smash Bros 4

They're probably gonna tease one of the consoles at E3.

I dont see problems announcing a new console at E2 2013 and launch the system same year round November 2013...

I'd assume that if a system gets announced is cause its ready and surely those 5 months prior release will be filled with info on the system specs, online service, features & most importantly games... 5 months of accumulated Hype is more than enough ;)

PS4 is a bit more up in the air atm, shown at E3 but launching hmmm, probably a bit later, perhaps early to mid 2014. :o :P
