I see that there are people with sigs saying "buy no more heroes" and such. What, did the game flop or something that people have to start a campaign to get people to buy it? Just curious about it.

So........hardcore games on the wii are selling like crap(even though they are good games), somehow i knew something like this could happen as the casuals are not going for the "hardcore" games on this kind of system.
Also people think they can get guys to buy a game from starting a campaign on the net.......i don't think that will work, kind of sad that games like that don't sell well but shovelware do.......on the wii that is. I don't see something like this happening on the 360. I think the game would've sold well on the 360 or PS3.

The funny thing is that it's not selling like crap. It completely sold out on its first shipment, which had to at least be enough for Ubisoft to make a profit. The hardcore market on the Wii -- the audience which keeps track of reviews and such -- might actually be growing large enough now to sustain a good hardcore library.
Both Killer 7 and Okami sold terribly on the PS2 while 50 Cent: Bulletproof sold over a million copies. Every system has it's bad games that sell great and it's great games that sell bad. It's not exclusive to the Wii. For example, look at the sales of Viva Pinata on the 360...I think the game would've sold well on the 360 or PS3.

Just what I expected. You knew what the reason was you just asked the question so that you could try and flame Nintendo fans. But an internet fan base dones not hurt so why not try.
Nothing about NMH appeals to John Q Public. Its like Okami, a game for gamers. They tend not to sell very well. I remember IGN did a campaign for Zack and Wiki and that didn't work. Bread_or_Decide
Maybe, people do like lightsabers and violence though...
While I doubt this game is going to do gangbusters, I think it'll do better then exepected.

Viva Pinata sold a million copies ive heard. I think No More Heros is overated here at gamespot, this is because I have not agreed with a single Kevin Vanord review.

As of September, Viva Pinata reached half a million sales.

It's a statement from Rare, so I'd think it's everything.
all things considered.

What does that mean? People throw that phrase about like it excuses things /rant

[QUOTE="Hoffgod"][QUOTE="Jandurin"]True, but how much of that was after it got word of mouth and dropped to $20?Viva Pinata is at 1.15 million sold on vgchartz.
I'm curious, now.

I wonder how Z&W will do now that it got a $20 drop also......
Exactly. Niche games like this can get a huge boost from price drops & word of mouth. It's the difference between "My friend told me this game is awesome, but I don't know. It's $50. Eh..." and "My friend told me this game is awesome, but I don't know. Then again, it's only $20. Eh, it's worth a shot!"[QUOTE="bigevil_rashek"]So........hardcore games on the wii are selling like crap(even though they are good games), somehow i knew something like this could happen as the casuals are not going for the "hardcore" games on this kind of system.

Dude, i didn't know the game sold poorly and made the thread to know why there are the "buy no more heroes" sigs. And i just made the post after a observation of the situation and stated my opinion about the situation. I didn't mean to flame anyone and if you tok offense at my opinion then i apologise, but someone has to be a rabid sheep to take offense at my honest opinions........ and where do you see bashing of the nintendo fans?

I erased the comment, it seemed like it would come off as an excuse and throw us off topic.
If NMH won't sell well, it will discourage third party developers to make games on the Wii. The same thing happend to the N64 and NGC.
Nintendo software will dominate in sales (mario galaxy, smash bros, wii-fit etc), and third party developers have a hard time competing with Nintendo.
and third party developers have a hard time competing with Nintendo.PullTheTrickerThey can't compete, it's proven. Whether or not they can sell enough remains to be seen.

It got a $10 price drop not a $20. Retail price was $40 and now its $30.
[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"][QUOTE="amtentori"]people want to advertise it because ubisoft did not advertise it...tarzanell
Idiots?
Agreed....the lack of advertisements is a real shame.
How could they advertise it? It would come off as a mess in a 30 second comercial.

They could advertise it like Kill Bill.

Exactly. If people know nothing about the game, they need to advertise. Brands like Mario or Halo speak for themselves so they don't really need advertising whilst unknown games like this do.
