so what will be next? 4K?tessellation?

1080p standard, we'll see a lot of games with tessellation as well. and just the usual leap in detail and effects.
it will be the last noticeable jump I think.
1080P + 60 FPS???

oh cmon i must be more than that1080P + 60 FPS???
hobo290
1080P yes. 60fps NO, console gamers prefer better graphics instead of better gameplay.
I think that it will be like today, some games will be 1080p 60fps, others will be 720p 30fps, and in between.1080P + 60 FPS???

Yet Call of Duty sold like mad on consoles.Probably one of the reasons is that this game run with 60fps compared to the rest of them that run with 25-30fps.

To the first line, yeah pretty much. But there'd still be plenty of room for improvement beyond next gen, with exciting new techniques for rendering graphics and more power to take advantage of the new techniques.
i think it will be less of a graphics jump, rather how much will be able to be produced. Larger scale battles, open worlds with huge DD and good graphics overall, bugger worlds, im hoping for less linear games where it is almost to the point of being on rails because devs can produce bigger worlds. With the jump in tech, there will be better physics, full on destruction engines for games, and game engines in general will have more options for 'realism'.

Yeah, I think Graphics have started making smaller jumps. Even from Xbox/GC to 360/PS3 it was pretty aparent. I think games will start becoming more technically impressive in terms of physics and scale too more then Graphics.

Woah, next gen consoles are going to change the way our brains and eyes work?
Next gen consoles you'll have to have surgery so you can "Jack in" and then we'll all live inside of them so the machines can use our bodies as batteries because we blotted out the sun, even though we get our energy from the sun too....

LMFAOWhat I expect at least are:
Native 1080p (capable of 4k resolution)
+60fps
7.1 HD Sound
SSD (high speed hard drive)
Wireless connection faster than N
Full 3D capability without sacrifies picture quality.
Quad layer Blu ray 12x current speed.
5 year ahead of current PC features. (not like PS3 that launched a console with an obsolete GPU).
Great game to play.

Maybe the other systems but Nintendo's next console yes because Nintendo prefers to make most of there games at 60FPS.sony has said they dont want to do a big jump next gen cause of what happened this gen and honestly i dont think there will be a big jump until they role out the video cameras to develope games ur gonna just see bigger worlds

What do you mean "next gen" Sony said the PS3 can do 4D, 120fps Dual 1080p output this gen.
So expect nothing less than 5D, 240fps Quad 1080p for the PS4.
