What is the best game of the generation so far? (56k warning)

As you know, Super Mario Galaxy has now overtaken OOT as the greatest game of all time on Gamerankings, making it the best game of the generation (so far).

But what is your favourite game of the generation thus far?

Is it SMG?

Crysis?

Halo 3?

Something else completely?

What do you guys think?

Right now? Crysis. But that's right now...

For me? Resistance or Fire Emblem: Raident Dawn, Zelda TP, or Oblivion.

Sorta the only current gen games I have though :P

From what I've played, I'd have to go with Metroid Prime 3. (Note that I haven't played a whole lot of it). Team Fortress 2 is up there as well.

However, I'm most impressed with Super Mario Galaxy and just how highly praised the game is. It's clearly a gorgeous game by any standards, and that says a lot.

2. Metroid Prime 3 - addictive, I love the Metroid experience

3. Bioshock - incredibly good game

4. Zelda TP - last gen but still amazing

5. Portal - just... wow...

But yeah, the ending was surprising satisfying. I absolutely loved the fire galaxy close to the end (Melty Molton Galaxy... I think). That was probably my favorite galaxy.

So much variety and so many amazing ideas at work in one game. The music is also phenominal. BOWSER FIGHTS OMG! That music is the definition of epic.

My favorite is definitely SMG.

Most definitely not, because they don't rate games the same way. Plus not every game will have the same amount of reviews; making a different standard for each individual game.

The Halo one definitely isn't, but I'm not sure about the rest as I've yet to play any of them. I'm pretty sure they're in-game though (except for the Halo pic).
