What games are the most overrated by fanboys?

I was going to make a top ten list but I'm too lazy.

So I ask you members of the board, what games get the most undeserved crys of 'one of the greatest games/series ever' by fanboys?

My vote goes to Halo. I've played the game with my roommate for a total of several hours and I don't understand why people act like it somehow deserves a shrine dedicated to it's awesomeness. I like the game but only playing multiplayer I don't think it's that much better than say TimeSplitters (well maybe a little better but only because I've played Timesplitters to death, and not Halo).

Say what you want about halo, but i find theoverall multiplayer and betraying team mates extremely entertaining. I think metal gear solid or half life is the most overrated.

I say Half-Life, Halo, Call of Duty, and Grand Theft Auto.

I honestly think that Half Life and Mario are underrated.

I'll say Halo and FF7.

Crysis, Mario, Zelda, and COD 4.

Little Big Planet. I've played it for 4-8 hours and if I wanted a side scrolling platformer, I'd go play my Super Nintendo.

Uncharted 1, hands down. Cows meant it was a "Gears killer" despite only being 6 hours long with no multiplayer or replayabillity whatsoever

As someone who own the game I agree, it's a good game and worth buying but it was treated like something that will change gaming forever, just because it had a very deep level editor.

All will claim Halo being the one, but don't pay attention to them.

FF7 and MGS4 for the stories. I've other games with far better stories and MGS4 is the weakest link in the MGS series IMO. Halo 3, Gears 1,2 I wouldn't say overrated but they are very over hyped by some.

Final Fantasy VII. It's praised for a lot of things, whne really, it's pretty average. Final Fantasy VIII and IX are ten times better.

I see many things wrong with your post, oh yes.

1. It was never hyped as Gears Killer

2. Its 8 hours long(Not much a difference but I might as well throw it out there).

3. It was actually praised for its great replayability.

I believe the highest scoring FFPs this gen is Bioshock.

MGS series, Final Fantasy IV, VI, VII, Chrono Trigger.

Not that these aren't great games but they are or at least aspects of them are said to be better than they really are.

Also Halo Combat Evolved for me is overrated. I'd go into more depth if people want me to.

Uncharted 2. It was quite awesome, but never while playing it did I feel like I was "playing a CGI movie" or that it was "the action game that all other action games are trying to be" or anything like that.

Half-Life Series, FF7, Uncharted 2

The Witcher. It's such a bad ass game but it's still over rated by hermits.
