What game has u wondering...."Hmm Could it Flop"

Is there a game out there that u cant stop watching vids on or looking at the latest screen of but for some reason feel it wont live up to the hype. If there is a game out there, what is it?

I cant help but have a feeling Lair will dissappoint I dont know what it is but I feel like it might be one of those surprise A titles or barly AA.

mass effect, bioshock, motorstorm, lair, MGS4, DMC3, heavenly sword, super paper mario, no more heroes, LoZ: PH, crysis...

As far as sales go, Lair might not break any records, but I think it will do alright. As far as scores go... well.. I will remain to hold my tongue about that. In fact... I'm just going to come out and say it. The only time a game flops is if it doesn't make the production money back... ever. IE, if the company ends up losing money on it, its a flop. Getting a low score on GS, or not selling over 50 million copies isn't a flop. This goes for any game. If Bullet Witch sells enough to make the money it cost to produce it back, It is not a flop. Some of you guys are too bloodthirsty sometimes.0rin

That's more the games commercial success, rather than the actual technical quality of the game. In system wars we have little concern for the financial side of the developers but we do have for their products. From a consumer point of view a purchase is based on the quality/price/etc of the item, not on whether or not it will make its production cost back.

Partly because what it wants to do is not mainstream stuff. Just like KOTOR. You really have to "think" when playing this game. If thinking that complex comes natural to you then chances are you a nerd. Most people play games to have brainless fun. It is why Bioware is an overrated company. They really don't get the "fun factor" a game should have.Socrates88

I'm never played KOTOR, but I have played Bioware older games. Compare a Bioware game to an EA sports game or a FPS. Which one require more thinking?Socrates88

I'm still finding it hard to believe that KOTOR is being labled a thinking man's game. And not only that 'thinking' is being branded 'nerdy.'

Or maybe they havent sold out and still making games to people who actually have brain

or maybe because they making games like that because they want to

or maybe because they are loyal to all there fans and care more about making a game that the community of bioware fans are proud of and care less about sales

If you want a "fun" company maybe you should direct your attention to Bethesda where their thinking lies in sales rather in the qualities of there games
