Worst as disappointing or just bad? If its disappointing then Destiny wins. If its baaaad then im not sure cuz i ignore crappy games for the most part. My fav game this year is still Dark Souls 2.
All my games are good. Even the bad ones.
Especially Sunset Overdrive and CoD: AW. They are at the top of the list currently.
Best: Dark Souls 2, Titanfall, Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2. (LittleBigPlanet 3, Pokemon and Smash Bros for Wii U hasn't come out yet. =P)
Worst; Watch_Dogs and Destiny.
Best (aka not disappointing):
Worst (aka disappointing):
I don't know. I haven't bought many games that came out this year
Best: MK8, Evil Within, Bayo 2, soon to be SSB WiiU, DK: TF, TLOU: Remastered
Worst: Don't know honestly. Liked everything I've played and I'm seriously having a hard time putting something. I guess Destiny if it resembles the beta? Never played the full game.
this thread isn't closed yet?
Well it is a cool thread. The Best game I've played this year is Bayonetta 2. The Worst? Probably Conception 2.
Best:
1.Shovel Knight
2.Divinity: Original Sin
3.Legend of Grimrock 2
4. Wolfenstein: The New Order
5. Dark Souls 2
Worst:
1.Thief
Not necessarily a bad game, just a massive disappointment. I also stopped playing games with any suspicion of being bad. Just don't have money to waste. So this is the best I can come up with I guess.
As of right now
Best = Mario Kart 8
Worst = Watch Dogs
Biggest Surprise = Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Seriously. The game is pretty darn good.
Honorable Mentions - Olli Olli and South Park are pretty good too!
Best Game: Disney Infinity 2.0
Worst Game: Disney Infinity 2.0
Its the only game I bought this year so naturally it occupies both sides.
@LegatoSkyheart
Tis the weekend... Mods need a well deserved break...
Which is bad news for me since If I get false flagged again I won't be coming back for a while.
Shame this thread probably won't last, but...
BEST:
COD: AW - You know a year has been pretty bad when this game hits the "best of the year" list. In fact, it surprised me in that it is probably the best game I have played this year. Exos change the game in more ways than I thought and just the little details like map specific kill streaks, the different little abilities of guns (infinite ammo but overheats, first 5 bullets doing more damage) plus the loot drops for minor stat changes, added together with a pretty great single player campaign (one level in particular stands out as one of the best designed tutorialesque levels I have ever seen in an FPS) makes a pretty dang good package.
Age of Wonders 3 - A dash of HoMM and Civ work quite nice together. I haven't played the expansion, but I hear that is really good and well received. Tactical gameplay is great, and the unit limit seemed stupid till I actually played with it and realized it opened up a lot of choices. Enjoyable game.
Hearthstone - This is not my fav card game but it is a great example of one done right. Addictive as heck arena mode and fun card battling game-play that gets crazier as the game goes on. The various expansions that this game will no doubt receive just make it worth even more, and how can you say no to a free game?
WORST:
Watch Dogs - Oh man was I so hyped for this game, and so dissapointed when it dropped. I was ready to go all in on this game and just immerse myself in its world, but only made it to chapter 2 before I quit in blind frustration. Awful optimization on PC, shallow "Press Q to hack and win" style gameplay along with many extras that are just pointless or not fleshed out. The two standout saviors to this game are the AR games, and the multiplayer.
Honestly, didn't buy a heck of a lot (I only tend to buy games that get great reviews) so not too many disappointing games if any, but not too many standout stars either.
Best: Bayonetta 2: Awesome game. Excellent mechanics, kick ass enemy variety, bitchin boss fights. One of the best action games, period.
Worst: Destiny: a repetitive mind numbing slog that isn't a test of skill or mastery of game mechanics, but the player's willingness to be a slave. Typical atrocious Bungie level design.
Best
-Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (one of the best platformers ever created)
-Bayonetta 2 (one of the best action games of all time)
Worst
-Mario Kart 8 (the series really needs some fixing up. It's been suffering from some fatal flaws for too long now)
Best - Bayonetta 2, i mean is there any doubt about how glorious this game is? Best action game ever.
Worst - Dark Souls 2, is not a bad game by any means...is just that of all the games ive played this year, this is the only one that felt a little bit short for me.
All the games I've played I have enjoyed. Titanfall, Destiny, watch dogs, wolfenstein, advanced warfare, most dissapointing was theif though
Best: Valiant Hearts, Child of Light, Transistor, TLOU: Remastered, Metro Redux, The Walking Dead: Complete Season 2, Shadow of Mordor, FIFA 15, Alien: Isolation, The Evil Within, NBA 2K15.
Worst: Thief, Lords of the Fallen, NBA Live 15, The Legend of Korra, Destiny, Murdered: Soul Suspect, NHL 15, Fighter Within, Sniper Elite III.

Best:
Luftrausers
Wolfenstein The New Order
Valiant Hearts
COH 2: Western Front Armies
Mario Kart 8

I can't think of much, so I'll go with Destiny. I hate it when developers design their premium priced games around making you buy as much DLC as possible. Got to make up for that marketing budget somehow, I guess...
Thief wasn't a bad game per se. It's just such a shame, because it could've been sooooo much more.
My favs so far:
The main disappointment was Destiny.
Sorry buddy, gonna have to lock this one because you don't have enough posts to make a thread yet.
That said, I'll still at least answer the question:
Disappointing:
Gah, nothing that I particularly actually bought myself or cared for. I guess I'll say DriveClub, I was actually very excited to get the game, until the reviews started coming in. Even then, I was willing to form my own opinion on the game by giving at least the PS+ version a go, but we all know how that turned out.
