What April game(s) are you most looking forward to?

I'm super excited for PS5 exclusive, Stellar Blade. I love Nier Automata and Bayonetta, so hearing that this game channels these games has me excited! Another game I'm interested in is TopSpin, would love a great Tennis game. Hopefully it reviews well. What about you, SW? What April game(s) are you most looking forward to?

I loved the Suikoden games so I’m very interested in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Also interested in Stellar Blade.

Stellar Blade

For me it's Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Game Pass, I salute thee!

Sandland looks cool, but will wait for a price drop

Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes and Stellar Blade are the two bigger ones although I'll likely only get Hundred Heroes day 1. The only other game on the list I'm interested in is SaGa: Emerald Beyond, but just like with Stellar Blade I'll likely get it later.

That leaves a list of games King Arthur, Crown Wars, Stellar Blade, and SaGa: Emerald Beyond, that I'll get eventually that I passed on early in the last couple months.

Last month was huge for me and I just got the 100% and platinum after 113 hours and 6 minutes on Unicorn Overlord. Now I'm playing through Dragons Dogma 2 and I still need to play Rise of the Ronin. This month should give me a chance to get caught up a little, but Hundred Heroes looks good so I'll have to pick it up even though I already have a thousand other games to play.

TopSpin 2K25. Had fun with Virtua Tennis back in the day, and a bit of a tennis fan myself. A neutral fan these days now that Roger's retired. Yes it's 2K, so there's always a catch, but I'm hoping for the best.

Will most likely be too busy with my planned back-to-back 5th Horizon Zero Dawn and 2nd Horizon Forbidden West play-throughs, though.

The final month of my irresponsible spending I supported Eiyuden Chronicles Kickstarter. I am in the final stretch of FF7R (apparently there is a bug in the final side mission I can't complete it until its patched fk that shit) and will start Ronin, Unicorn Overlord soon. I have until July to finish all the games I bought then its Trails into Daybreak, pre ordered that.

Probably buy Stellar Blade if it reviews well. not touching the demo.

Braid Anniversary looks good, Braid always stuck out to me as the prime example of a indie game done right: knows exactly what it wants to be and doesn't overblow on budget or gimmicky mechanics.

Damn man, I love Zero Dawn, but doing both games back to back sounds exhausting :D

I'm playing Forbidden West right now on PC and loving it.

One thing I did notice though is that I need to turn off "hardware accelerated GPU scheduling" for the game to work correctly.

But having this off interferes with other games. Guess this is a good way of telling me I should play more HFW.

Yeah, great port, not a perfect one. We'll see if they roll out more patches for the few niggling issues.

I plan on taking a break for a week or two after I finish my first play-through, but honestly, I don't feel tired playing HFW at all. Having done a Mass Effect trilogy back-to-back run before, I know how to pace myself for things like this.

The bigger issue instead could be that it might be hard going back to HZD after having played HFW and its improvements.

And I would agree that the port is very well done (certainly a lot better than how HZD launched, as I instantly refunded that one).

But yeah so close to perfect, just shy of it.

The thing I was having at the start is that movement, and especially camera movement did not feel smooth at all. Even at framerates 90-110 the camera and Aloy's movement just felt off, jerky in a way, also stuttery in a way.

I turned off Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling and now I'm playing scott free. So if you have any issues at all with stuttery or incorrect movement, be sure to give it a try :)

For April's games, I'm picking up these 3 games that have my attention:

1. Stellar Blade - now this is the game that will spark my interest in playing PS5 more and I like Bayonetta, so of course Stellar Blade is gonna take most of my time.
2. Tales of Kenzera: Zau - I love Metroidvania game style and plus, Zau has that Wakanda style going for it. Not sure if I'll buy it on Steam or EA store.
3. Sand Land - This one's for you Akira Toriyama! Yep, Akira's final game involvement is Sand Land and this game has been on my radar for a while anyway before he died. So far, everything looks good from what I've seen.

3 games to look forward and this is clearly April's fool...ing my poor checking account😥

Keeping an eye out on Sand Land, but... nothing.

Sandland and Stellar Blade are what I’m most excited for, not sure if I will buy both on release as money is tight for me lately so I may hold off until the summer.

Eiyuden Chronicle sound very interesting.
