Wasn't Rachet & Clank "Supposed" to Move PS3's?

Seriously, wasn't it? I remember a bunch of posts about R&C and its potential to move PS3's...

And about a half dozen fake boys stating:

"I'm going to store right now to buy a PS3 cause R&C is coming out"

"I just got back from my local grocery store and PS3's were all sold out"

"I just saw a guy walk out of Best Buy with 9 PS3's cause R&C is coming out"

"R&C is a killer app.... really it is"

Yea i remember all those posts. Funny thing is , even if we over look hardware sales, ps3 software sales are still no where to be found. Before cows always used excuse like "WEll if 3rd party developers did not give us sloppy ports then we would actually buy games" . Now that R/C ps3 exclusive is out what excuse do cows have now since R/C did not make top 10 in game chart.

Developers are notice ps3 poor software sales and i will not be one bit surprised when current big ps3 exclusives will be announced for 360 as well. Do cows honestly think that developers will waste 25 million dollars on a console that has poor software sales.

Nothing will really act as a system seller all by itself this gen aside from Halo or SSB... no other franchise has enough of that indescribable appeal to single-handedly carry system sales.Funkyhamster

Quite frankly, it astounds me that this game has sold as little as it has. Ratchet and Clank has always sold quite well. The only explanation that I can think of is that the audience the series had on the PS2 hasn't moved on to the PS3 yet.

I don't know, I think GTA will get people to buy systems on the game's merits alone. Granted it's not exclusive to Xbox360 or PS3 ,but I think that is one game that will still be responsible for systems purchased specifically to play GTA.

Agreed.. And when thinking about buying a console when GTA4 comes out.. Most people will say damn..

I can play Gears of War, Bioshock, Forza2, Halo 3, Mass Effect and Ninja Giaden 2 on the 360 + GTA4..

Now what will be out at the time GTA 4 comes out that even comes close to that line up..

Plus the 360 is the definitive game accoring to rockstar with the DL content..

Mayb the real reason ps3 games dont sell well is because majority of people that do own ps3 actually bought it just for cheap blu ray player and not gaming machine. Rest of the crowd that want gaming machine moved on to wii and 360.

I agree. Ratchet & Clank is going to sell well over Christmas. I believe a lot of people are going to pick up a PS3 over Wii this holiday and guess what game they will be getting with it. Yup Ratchet and Clank. The game will be a million seller. It is good enough and isn't built on hype alone. The game will stand the test of time and end up selling well.

Also anyone who bashes on R&C in my opinion isn't a true gamer. True gamers can appreciate games that raise the bar regardless of console choice. R&C raises the bar for platformers, which is good for everyone. As a gamers everyone should appreciate that.
