Was Minecraft meant to look like crap?

Yes its a great game with fun and addicting gameplay, but I just can't get past the 1992 era graphics. I mean why not just make it at least PS2-like graphics? Why go out of your way to make it a pixelated eyesore?

Well PC has some nice texture packs and overhauls to make it better.

Consoles have the Natural Texture Pack for now.

Hopefully they make a "realistic" pack.

Minecraft is like digital Legos, the limit is your imagination, and without paying up the ass on price.

Probably not. I mean, the development team has about zero talent in general. FFS, it was made in Java (lol).
