A common thing that a surprising amount of graphics king games are spotty with. Metro 2033 had shadows cast on everything, last light doesn't. Crysis 3 doesn't either as some light sources are baked and don't even cast player shadows. BF3 is the same. 

I'm not sure in crysis 3 since i never actually used a flashlight, but i think it does cast shadows. Remember Metro and Crysis are first person games, and TLOU is thrid person. It has harder to see shadows from a flashlight when the light source is pointing the same way as your eyes.

I think you are right the BF3's doesn't though.

It's not that a game is being hyped, it's that a bunch of stupid people kept making idiotic claims for no good reason. The worswt thing I see is Cow's claiming GoAT, then talking about how they are on media blackout for the game. Like really? How damn dumb are you? You would seriously insta-buy something day one off a SINGLE reveal trailer?

It's just dumb blind hype to such a psychotic degree that I have never seen before and yes that does get irritating, especially when the game likely won't even be the best this year....

Ad lets be honest too, half the reason this game is being hyped so much is because of it's exclusitivity. Cows do this crap with every exclusive the PS3 gets and 95% of the time it comes back to bite them in the ass when the game ends up not as good as it was hyped to be.

I just got done playing the demo. My impressions

1. The graphics are outstanding especially considering this is very old hardware

2. The animations are great

3. Joel isnt as nimble as drake and the guns seem alot heavier. This isnt a game where you can go in there and clean out 5 bad guys with no problem. You actually need to sneak around and hit your shots.

4. There are diffrent ways to approach each situation .

Pretty short demo but so far its day 1 for me.

No kidding, and half the reason its getting hyped is because its made by a developer who generally puts out AAA products . Its also had nothing but positive feedback from the media.

thanks for the mini review.

• Feels nice bashing the hell out of people , especially with the pipe.
• At one point I was beating up a dude near a wall and Joel took the guy and bashed his head into the door and his head exploded. 
• I tried throwing bricks or bottles at enemies that were charging me and missed every time , lol. I'm going to have play some more and figure out how to land some of these to stun the enemy first and then run up and pound them. 
• Graphics look nice.

So while playing the demo, i found in one of the journals about the Infected and while so far we have only seen two of them, it seems they are four of them in total.

Stage One

Runners

These are your typical aggressive zombies, which would chase you tirelessly and try to swarm you, you are advised not the let them swarm you

Stage Two

Stalkers

These are the next stage of the infected, it seems they still have some bit of their sight but very less more so than the runners, they operate in stealth fashion and would hide in corners, sneak around waiting to ambush you, so you are advised to watch and check every corner and behind you

Stage Three

Clickers

The ones we have seen much of since the introduction of the game, they do not see at all but any noise you make would attract their attention, very strong and would insta kill you

Stage Four

B?????

This seem like the advanced stage of the infected, given i found an image online, it seems these would be the bigger bad ass of the bunch, i would not be suprised if they are not as populated as the rest of the bunch, so far information about them remain unfound

Good lord, over 100mb/ps????? I actually didnt think that was possible.... just marketing fluff.  CHarter promises "up to" 30mbps, but as you can see my internet grade is only slightly higher than my overall average from high school... :(

So where do you find the demo? I looked in the all the demo areas and in the PS Plus areas.

edit-nm I see now that I have to buy God of Bore to be able to play a demo and people bash Crackdown for the Halo 3 multiplayer demo.

It's 8 year old tech so it's forgivable I guess. But it makes me ND saved this bad boy as a launch game for PS4, I mean there's nott hat much longer to wait.

Imagine the game with better textures, 1080p and a few more higher res assets.

No doubt the game will be insane regardless but still, visuals go a LONG way towards immersion in a game like this

On the resolution I think it's my elgato rather than the game, the game is and was running at 720p but my elgato is taking screens at a lower resolution jonesy1911

Ah, makes sense, remember the DF said it'll run in 720p. Still, this shows how badly outdated current consoles are, I really hope some of these games will get HD remakes on the PS4, with proper visuals and stable frame rate.

I know TLOU 2 will likely hit on PS4 but it sort of goes againt their "not bringing a series through gens" thing so I would have liked to see TLOU as their PS4 thing 

Plus that means I would actually get to play it since I will likely get a PS4 :P can't justify another PS3

TLOU has probably been in development for a couple of years now, and was originally a holiday 2012 release. It's not like they are going to scrap it to make it a PS4 title. Besides, I don't want to "wait" for anything. It's not like Sony's studios wont' start cranking out PS4 games after this year. So there's no reason to suffer a drought on the PS3 to "wait" for PS4 games. I like Sony's strategy, get these great games out on PS3 all the way to the end then move onto more great things for PS4. 

Sony has enough studios to do both during this transition period. 

Of course I wouldn't complain if they did a "Ultimate Edition" re-release on PS4 with all the DLC and 1080p+ settings. But if they dont, I'm ok with that too. I'm sure this team will go straight to working on an amazing PS4 game.

Those captures do look like shit. But coming from Uncharted 2 team it's surely going to be a great looking game. I forgot how much of a gap there is between Naughty Dog's stuff and pretty much any 360 or PS3 game this gen, until I just started playing Uncharted 3 recently (it's been a few years since I played Uncharted 1/2). Damn impressive stuff in motion. I'm sure there are plenty of ugly textures and stuff to nitpick since it's still a current gen title, but it still stands head and shoulders above any console games on 360 or even most other exclusive games on PS3 (only really God of War is debatable with Uncharted 2/3 IMO).
