I often hear that the Xbox 360 has better RAM than the PS3, and all of those dodgy multiplatform games on PS3 was because of PS3's RAM. It looks like you are all wrong.

xbox360's ram is better because it's unified makes a bigger difference than a tiny bit more bandwidth.

They both have 512MB RAM

PS3 is split into 2 sections

360 isn't

PS3 is super fast RAM (and super fast bus)

360 is slow RAM (and slow bus)

360 OS takes up less RAM leaving more for games

PS3 OS takes up more RAM leaving less for games

As to Skyrim problems on PS3, it's a sloppy port, period. Bethesda didn't respect PS3 owners enough to do a good job, they used an old engine, slapped it together and sold it.

You don't play Bethesda games on anything but a PC if you want a good experience.

Wrong again. PS3 has 512MB and it's split in 2 sections.

Yeah, that's an IGN article alright. If the PS3's memory is so superior, why do most multiplatform games look and perform worse on the PS3? Memory pools are fixed, system uses more memory than the 360, and its GPU lacks the crazy fast eDRAM of the 360.DJ_Lae

Well, PS3's technology is far ahead of 360's (CELL processor, etc), so developers are right amateurs when it comes to PS3. Naughty Dog is one of the 'true' PS3 developers.

They said because it was split it causes problems. If you have tons of RAM like a PC, you can split it all over the place, it doesn't really matter, but in a console with already small quantity, it would be inevitable down the line that it would cause problems. Combined with the OSs problems.

It's so easy to blame devs. Poor coders ect. But why should devs have to put up with this extra rubbish of low resources, complicated architechures and so on.

Well, millions of PS3 gamers are complaining about framerate problem, and even me. My Skyrim is on the shelf collecting dust. It's so broken.

No one here is a dev so I don't believe most thins people say about systems on here. What most people on here seem to do is post BS links that agree with their argument, well I hate to break it to those people but no one buys it. I see so many people say things and seem to have no idea what they are talking about, like some people will say "this version of the game has better AA (anti aliasing)" but when you ask them what that means you'll get a thousand "definations" from people, which leads me to believe that everyone is talking out their ass.

I don't know how much RAM the PS3 has and I don't care, most devs don't seem to have an issue with it or the PS3 in general. I also don't see a difference between PS3 and 360 multiplats in almost all cases, they literally look the same to me. I can't tell if one is "better" than the other, some people on here say otherwise but that's because they are desperate fanboys. And I still don't have any performance issues with Skyrim, the issue isn't universal like Lems think it is and the last update fixed it for my friends who were having it.
