The best RPGs?

What are the best RPGs for you? I have several but broken in to different categories:

1. Best RPG introduced to the masses: FFVII and FFX (for the PS2 era)

2. Best RPG for old schoolers/perhaps overall: Chrono Trigger and FFVI

3. Best RPG for the niche community: Earthbound

4. Best RPG not made in Japan/Asia: Fallout

So far, Oblivion is still my favorite WRPG. I think it will stay there for me until Elder Scrolls V :)

Dark Cloud, Valkyrie Profile, Alundra, Soul Blazer, Seiken Densetsu 3, Ys III The Oath in Felghana, Dragon Quest VI and Final Fantasy IX are the absolute best RPGs Ive ever played.

4. Best RPG not made in Japan/Asia: Falloutdouble_heist

I think the kids are calling that a "WRPG" these days.

Anyway.

JRPG: Tales of Symphonia

WPRG: Morrowind

morrowind is the greatest WRPG ever made followed by KOTOR

The best kind of RPGs for me are Japanese turn based RPGs or JapaneseAction RPGs

OVERALL

WRPG: PlaneScape Torment (Story telling as its finest)

JRPG: XenoGears (wasn't even a finished project but it puts a lot of RPGs to shame IMO)

SRPG: Final Fantasy Tactics (great story, gameplay, best Final Fantasy period just showed that Yasumi Matsuno was the best Square had to offer)

Recent titles I would have to go with the Witcher, Mass Effect, FallOut 3, Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 for the best RPG experience.

When I was a kid: Pokemon Gold

Present: Persona 4

One that should be remade and finished: Xenogears

One that will represent RPGs in a different way for the future: Final Fantasy Versus XIII

My favorite series: Star Ocean (Its battle system and item creation is unrivaled)

New RPG IP im looking forward to: Resonance of Fate

My favorites are Final Fantasy 7, Tales of Symphonia, Kingdom Hearts 2, Mass Effect, and Tales of the Abyss.

My favorite rpgs.

Fallout 1 & 2: There is no game i know ofout there which defines roleplaying better than this.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind: My favorite open-world rpg, with tons of stuff to do.

Diablo 1 & 2: Fun and addicting.

Chrono Trigger: In my oppinion, the best jrpg out there.

We're up to 7 categories, 12 games, and only 1 not made in Japan from the OP. Yeah... I think you need to play some more RPGs from, you know, the rest of the world before you make a thread that assumes you are some sort of authority on the subject.

Wow. The thing is I haven't noticed him saying he has any kind of authority on the subject. He was simply just stating his opinion on the Best RPG's. If you don't like the lack of RPG's on his list from other regions then that's too bad.

FFVIII (8) is still my most favorite ever

then FFX, baten kaitos, chrono trigger, and FFVI
