I have the same beef with some reviewers as well. How do you get paid to review games and don't know game play mechanics for games by now?

Spelunky added video replays of other people's deaths. Yesterday I learned a mechanic for robbing the shopkeeper I've never seen before. Rogue Legacy, the poor man's Castlevania its core gameplay is (which says nothing of its excellent rogue"lite" qualities), has no chance of being the game that educates you as much as Spelunky does. Binding of Isaac? I'd say it's closer. A lot closer. There's thousands of items, many of which don't have explicit effects or aesthetics to show the player what they even do. It's kind of a lame way of learning the game, but I've only sank a few hours into it so far. I'll make a more fair judgment later.
