@Blabadon: i wish i could have access to my first few posts. it must be shut away in some archive. i seriously question that my first contribution was tom from myspace as a coming challenger for smash bros wii. after a few posts gamespot and it's unfathomable wisdom decided that my account was imaginary. it wouldnt stop wall me with a you got your pass incorrect message, it would just continue after i clicked enter to a page that asked me to log in. for years. i just checked back in on a isolated whim after a very long time.

The first season was pretty good, 2nd and 3rd was pretty meh, they had their moments but they also had their bad moments which I guess it's cause of issues they had with different directors or w/e. The first two episodes so far for season 4 are amazing, the next episode looks amazing as well cause of the cliff hanger last week.

Grabbed me some Batman: Arkham Origins. I'm expecting it to be worse (looking at reviews), but I hope the story is solid.

Well, I don't expect any significant decrease in quality compared to the previous Arkham games, reviews say game mechanics are as solid as ever, only the game isn't pushing the franchise forward in any meaningful way, leading to stagnation (a issue which can be attributed to many other major IPs in the industry, yet is commonly overlooked in reviews). Who knows, maybe this is the start of a trend where the reviewers are becoming more critical of the said issue...

Anyways, have it downloaded already, but won't get to play it before the next Thursday.

Interesting viewpoint, and it would be cool if that were the way things were going. I've heard of a couple minor issues (from the IGN review) regarding framerate drops, and the backtracking for certain sub-missions (IIRC).

No doubt i'll enjoy it... I mean, it's f*cking Batman.

Yeah... none of the issues I've seen mentioned in the reviews sound like anything game breaking, it's more Batman, and with the quality of the previous Arkham titles, that's hardly a bad thing.

Now, I only hope Origins doesn't pick all the flak for being "uninspired", while other games like CoD, BF, AC, sports games, etc, where the same issue exists, get a free pass. I don't have any problems with harsh reviews and the full use of the 1-10 scale, as long as the scores are consistent, and reviews sensibly written.

I've only complete Blackgate so far, but i'm enjoying it.

I definitely agree. It does seem like we're moving out of the 7-10 scale more and more... Which is good, so long as the reviews are accurate.

Finally beat Deathstroke after my umpteenth try... Grrr...

He was pretty tough! Took me 3 or 4 tries.

It got a little ridiculous. Too much trial and error, followed by blind luck. Satisfying as Hell, though.

I found the best method is to spam x unless the game says to press y. My biggest problem, was trying to anticipate the counters instead of waiting for them. Also the quick fire grapple (LT +Y) was a quick way to shave off some health.

When do these Hotline Miami leaderboards update...

LT + Y was a real help. His counters got ridiculous, especially when the game told you to look for your opputunity O.o

Waiting was a big part of his strategy, I found. Rather annoying :P
